Request: Battery Shut-off Switch & Relo Info

Title should be self-explanatory. There are a few battery relo how-to's. I'm looking for best ideas for integrating a shut-off switch.

Thanks.

You basically just put it in line from the positive terminal of the car to the main bus panel. Are you looking for something for a racecar? If so, i can show you how our rally car was done.

Well, there are plenty of relocated battery how-to's, etc. here. What I'm interested in is how the cabling would be routed differently and what other parts (with sources, hopefully) would be required. Pics of a happy install would be awesome!

Thanks, and I'll take whatever I can get! *Laugh*

You cut the power cable leading from the battery and connect a power switch in line. You'll most likely need two 3/8" diameter cable lugs, some heatshrink (1/2 diameter most likely) a switch and mount for it. I would locate it right on the side of the battery mount. You'll probably have to fabricate a mount.

Use something like this switch:

I looked closer at how our kill switch is installed, and sorry, but i won't take pictures. I am disgusted by how it was done, and i will be taking it apart and doing it the correct way (WITHOUT ELECTRICAL TAPE), and then i'll take pics.

Sounds pretty hardcore. You making this a full-blown racecar?
