need steps or tips to installing a cf trunk

I took off my tension bars in the trunk when I did mine then the install went easy.

I took off the bar to prevent my trunk from warping from the pressure the bars put on the trunk.

Easier to install the trunk with another person or two so they can hold the trunk while you line up the screw holes.

1) Remove stock trunk

2) Remove torsion bars

3) Install Seibon trunk, realign as necessary

just finished installing it sits a bit high towards the end but seems to be held in tight !

i know its not going to align directly as OEM but seems pretty good to me

You said it sits high? Post us some pics cuz I was thinking of doing the same... but I thought Seibon would fit like oem.

May also need to reverse the latch. It will help pull the rear down a little more.

Ive got a VIS and it fits about a 9.5/10 with the reversed latch, no torsion bars, and adjusted bump stops.

No offense to the OP, but Seibon is junk. Spend the money and get a good hood/trunk that fits well and is resistant to cracking/fading.


And to make it fit well, take down your rear seat ( back portion ) and allow someone to crawl into the trunk area, and align it from the outside with the bolts loose. Once you have her where you want to, have the guy in the trunk tighten down the bolts.

Can the latch be loosened and adjusted down so it will sit lower like a dsm?

i've got a vis, sits slightly hi and the latch needed to be bent a fair bit to align. its an evo, so drive 70 everywhere and itll look good as it goes past!
