i've been thinking this is something i want to do to my car. but also disable the key in the ignition part. the car can't lock and doesn't see the street, so theft i'm not worried about.

I like to push start on my parents 2010 or 2011 mazda speed. The key just needs to be in the general area of the car for the push start to work. Can't drive it unless the key is inside the car I think.

I recently did this install but I didn't connect the ign1 wire, just the starter and battery and it works!! Key to the 1st position, press the start button, the starter cranks but the engine doesnt turn over. Key to the 2nd position, press the start button, the starter cranks, the engine starts. Button doesnt work without the key in the ignition. Quick question, why would I need to connect the ign1 wire?

Sorry guys been deployed for a while,
I'll try to get a video of it working when I get the car back in couple of weeks, I'm getting few things done.
DeceptionsMR sorry I'm not sure about alternative wiring, I used the manual to wire it up. But if it works for you, go nuts

Pretty friggen cool idea!, I may try to research a way to amplify the transponder on the key and jump out the ign so the key does not have to be in, would be pretty neat to just carry a fob, hop in and go
