DIY COP Coil On Plug Setup
Demon you're a saint, as much of an oxymoron as that is to say. I did mine last night and they turned out beautifully. I ended up spending $125 for the coils, plugs, tubing, heat shrink, and wire if anyone is curious. I still have to fab up a mounting plate can't imagine it costing more than $20

I haven't mounted mine yet as I haven't had time since the plates were made. I had mine made out of 1/8" aluminum using the same dimensions in the drawing above along with my notes and it's perfect (literally, perfect). I need to measure the springs and such for the coils which I may end up stretching a tiny bit
I'd change my forum name but I'm un-creative and I've used this one for a long time

Test-fitted the plate today and took a drive around the block.
To attach the coils I used:
4x 6mm x 1mm x 25mm socket cap bolts to attach the coils
4x 6mm x 1mm x 20mm socket cap bolts to attach the plate to the valve cover
18x 6mm flat washers (3 as a spacer between the plate the the coil, one on top of the coil for the bolt head for a total of 16; 2 for the mounting bolts)
Plate fits like a charm, car drives great. Can't notice any difference as it was all less than 30mph driving. As of now I'll be running this setup full-time. I need to figure out something with the wires though, they're messy looking!

Good write up and thanks for the business!
One thing to point out (and maybe you did do it), but on the three pin connector with the double crimps make sure to add some sort of waterproofing to seal in there. Water is the enemy!

What do you guys use to seal those? for now, the heat shrink created a very snug, but not totally waterproof seal. On most of the pins I had to use pliers to pull the pins through from the connection side because I couldn't push them hard enough (without fear of bending) from the back side to get them to clip in
I cut the Wires down to fit better, and with the 3 pin Evo Connector i totally elimated it and used Heat shrink connectors, because as spoolinup said water is the NME. Plus it looks WAY cleaner without them.
And honestly i never plan for it to go back to stock, these work to well.
And this way it looks more "Stockish"

If anyone is interested in this any time soon please let me know, I am going to be getting a few aluminum plates cut for friends in the near future and I can have extras cut as well for $40 shipped. Plates can be for an 8 or a 9 (the 8's are the same but without the four notches on the outside)
here is mine pics of it, you can see how i just eliminated that Evo connector and went direct.
