Push Lock Fittings for twin wastegates

See Build thread in signature for reference.

So the other day I finally got around to mounting up the GrimmSpeed 3 port using all Push Lock fittings. This was such a pita, I have no experience with these connectors and it took forever to find the correct sizing of everything and to find out what I needed to order. So I sat down one night and did all the research for myself, and now for you guys. This was also done for well under $100

Here is my order list from McMaster for all the parts you'd need. Keep in mind this is for a twin wastegate setup using a 3 port boost controller. I bought a few extra connectors and decided to change a few things up, most notibly going with t-taps right on the second wastegate. Below is a photo for reference, and a table displaying all the connectors you need to purchase.

The fittings are Nickel Plated brass

Maximum Pressure @ 72° F 260 psi, except the tube stem couplings and plugs are rated 150 psi
Temperature Range 0° to 175° F, except the tube stem couplings and plugs are 32° to 140° F

The hose is Polyurethane Tubing

Maximum psi @ 75° F175
Temperature Range -40° to 165° F

I also ordered this to protect the line coming straight off the turbo, since it comes in contact with my radiator and is quite close to the header. I also used some of it to extend the boost controller harness.

High-Temperature Chemical-Resistant Expandable Sleeving

Temperature range is -90° to 480° F

Location Connects to Thread Size Fitting Needed Part # Unit Price

T-Tap Grimmspeed EBC Port 1 / Port on Turbo F3 / T-Tap F4 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 Tube 5779K34 $4.65
Tubing .16" ID x 1/4" OD Tube 25ft 5648K25 $11.50

Total: $46.87

I really hope this helps you folks in making the move to these connectors, they're very badass and easy to use. I pressure tested them up to 50psi and had 0 leaks.

Thanks! Long as I helped at least one person.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I was glad to of moved the EBC over on the front radiator support so the vacuum lines were that much shorter.

Where did you get yours and how is it holding up to the heat?

I got a lot of PMs about the vacuum plumbing for the Tials, so I made a diagram really quick.

The one close to my manifold I installed a cover to protect it. Because the plastic hose did melt at the first start up!

so these 1/8th npt fittings threaded right into tial?

technically tial is 10mm x 1.0 (or atleast mine is).

i just pm him about that thread issue but originally said 1/8npt will suffice...i just want to make sure im not cross threading.

i would love to drill out my spare intake mani and tap all for these fittings..so ALL vacuum lines are push lock

Beagles can you put the part #s and the quantity next to it for this exact project?

I might buy a few extras of each so I can add to it later

hallman MBC is 1/8 pipe straight (not tapered like 1/8npt but the NPT works just great!

Im running hybrid boost so I need to modify the diagram a bit...

thanks, that's what i figured. npt will work but it is a tapered thread to be used with a thread sealer. it is probably going to distort the threads and you may not be able to use the stock 10mm banjos with crush washers again (which i'm okay with).

as far as part numbers, he has them in the first post all avail on mcmaster-carr though he said he changed them a bit. this part '51495K234' was listed 7 times. i see it in 4 places but i think 2 of them are '51495K139' and one of the is '51495K134'.

im thinking about buying '51495K214' instead because swivel.

Yes it will thread just fine, just be sure not to CRANK on it.

The part #s I listed were just what I used for my specific setup.. a lot of peoples will very so this was merely a guide to get you started. These can obviously be used for any air line setup so just scan the parts list and decide on which part you need, I ordered a bunch of the 90 degree 1/8NPT swivels so I can do my other lines when I feel like taking the Intake Manifold off.

My Grimmspeed seemed to be the same way, but just like the Tials, long as you don't crank on it hard it will work just fine.

All the 1/8npt threads on these part numbers had thread sealant already applied so I didn't have to do anything extra.

Right on! Thanks again yeah I wonder if you could go back to a standard style banjo bolt with barb fitting after ading a 1/8npt but like others have said if it doesn't well who cares it's staying for a while anyways.

What do you mean by crank on it? Im going to tighten it until it's snug and then just anther quarter turn at MOST. Im glad these fittings come with thread sealant. What fittings (part #) are you guys referring to when you say 90 degree swivel?

I have come to the conclusion that the pushlock fittings are useless. When it gets below freezing outside I find that these hoses come out the fittings quite easy especially if you are working on your car in the cold. Twice I experienced over boost /spike conditions only to find that the end of the hose came out one of the fittings. Another time recently the temp in NYC was 2 degrees. EBC was acting up. Go under the hood check all the lines. The one connected to one side of the solenoid was out. I put it back in but found it will only stay in once the engine bay gets nice and warm. These fittings are trash in cold weather since the hose gets hard and shrinks. Going back to good old reliable barb fittings folks.

I don't doubt that you might have had some trouble at those temperatures, this blast was not normal. At work (airport) we use a lot of these fittings in our equipment including NY and Chicago with very minimal failure. Again what you experience is not the norm... but you do what feels more secure to you.

Good Boostin!
