How to get off stuck/broken/stripped manifold studs
Hello evo drivers!
Have a question that I've been struggling with...
I decided to replace my leaking exhaust manifold myself, and ran into a few sticky situations... I got all the nuts off except one and had to dremel cut the stripped bolt off...
Now I need to replace the studs for new ones cause during the process of removal one bolt broke off as well as the stud!!!! I have about half a inch of the broken stud still out of the head, tryed to use vice grips and it just would t budge! Suckers stuck
I have another one that is normal length but threads are shot on it so can't so the 2 nut removal trick to that one and tried the vice grips didn't work on either I have sprayed down with pb blast past few days I've shocked them with a hammer to break the bond!!! Any other idea or tips to get off I have a hand torch but the head is aluminum little worried to try that out...
Pls help! Someone I thought might be a few days is taking 2 weeks...and a pocket of change!

I ran into the same problem and nothing would work. Then i found this tool called the titan stud puller and since you have some stud sticking out this should work with some heat. When you you turn this counter clock wise it has these prongs that get tighter and tighter and dig into the stud. It took me ten minutes to get out three broken studs with this, it was a life saver!
