Broken exhaust manifold studs?
A common occurance with 4g63 dsm's with a moderate amount of milage was the exhaust manifold studs breaking. From what I've been told in the past, it's caused by the two different medals (aluminum head, cast manifold) expanding at different temperatures thus causing the studs to break over time. It's a real PITA to get them out when this happends, especially when they break deep inside. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has had this problem on an evo, and if anyone recommends switching the studs out with something stronger. I did a search and couldn't find any other post regarding this. Thanks.

If you're really concerned, you can change out the studs like a maintenance item.
From my personal experience on my DSMs, you can only remove and reinstall studs in the head so many times. The more times you remove the studs from the head, the more you wear out the aluminum threads. IMO, these are one of those "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" things.
