Another $10 mod (batt. kit)

Another low budget mod for those looking for the simple stuff
odyssey small 680 from Batterymart.com $98
universal battery hold down kit with j hooks and bracket $5
believe it or not....chrome closet necktie hanger from wal -mart $3
- U need to take apart the tie hanger, the square piece which goes over the door is the one u will need to bolt onto the bottom of the battery and bolt it in place on the chassis where the old battery tray sat it.
-The long bracket with the round holes will become ur hold down lengthwise
-Install one j- hook in back upside down with hook part into hole on chassis, u'll see it its back there....
-the other j-hook goes right side up, j-hook end thru one hole in top bracket and the lower threaded end fits right into a threaded hole on the chassis where the factory air box was bolted on frame. Now put on long braket and tighten snug.
-now bolt on Black universal hold down width wise to secure battery from moving sideways. Long bolt will go from the lower bracket under battery,( the u shaped one that goes over the door..remember? it has a hole in it, which is the one to run the last j-hook bolt thru and tighten top end with a nut and washer.
-Battery fits nice and snug against fuse box end of strut tower and if u installed the brackets properly will not budge at all.
Trust me I drive my car VERY HARD, drag race launches, AND HARD AROUND THE TWISTIES TOO. I did this this mod with 3k miles on the car back in July last year and went all thru the winter with this battery in there.
- I now have 21k miles, without a problem.........so if ur a little mechanically inclined and want to save on a small battery kit..... take a walk over to the auto parts section next time ur wife starts nagging that she wants to go to Wal-mart, u slip away and pick up ur new $10 mod
-Good luck, enjoy a few minutes working on the car, and GOD BLESS

What I'm saying is that its a pretty darn strong battery, it cranks up the 4BANGR with no problem. Even with the rough winter we had here in the Northeast. It really does not take much to crank these motors up, now I doubt the reserve capacity of this is like the stock one, but then again the stock one is not really that great of a battery anyways.........
