Any dyno charts on the 264/272 yet?

I'd like to order this week, still leaning towards straight 264s though.

Thanks,

FB

I send it to Greg at GSC, I picked up about 30whp with the cams and hks intake, with out a tune. I'm nopefully in the next 2 weeks going to get a tune where I should pick up another 15-20whp. when he posts the graph you can see the a/f's were pretty bad so thats why the numbers arent as great as i expected.

But I can say I'm shocked that it did as well as it did on the dyno with such poor a/f's, especially uptop the a/f's were pegged at 10. The car feels amazing and there is definatly an increase on the top/mid end.

These are some great cams, I'll be giving you guys and update after the tune.

Wow,

Still that rich with cams? That sounds awesome. No cam gears either?

Thanks for the PM, I'll hit you back in a sec.

The only thing holding me back from the 264/272 vs straight 264s is the emissions issue. I see you're in NJ, are you going to get cam gears to help with idle and whatnot, or do you think the tune will help enough? I believe the staggered set has a little more overlap and would probably have a slightly worse idle. I just don't want to pull them out to get the car smogged.

I'm also eager to see if the staggered set has earlier spool like the AMS test showed. Of course we won't have a back to back comparo, but I'd like to see how quickly your tq is ramping up. I've read a lot of the posts regarding the theory, but haven't seen a back to back dyno comparison (except the AMS test on a DSM). Also, I've seen a few people with straight 264s and no cam gears pass emissions, but not sure if 264/272 have already done the same.

Take care,

FB

yeah no cam gears, the combo is great since you'll get more midend and top end then the strait 264's. The idle is fine, you probably wouldnt notice if I didnt tell you that i had cams although it is different a little loopy but very minimal. The spool is fine, i thought it got better. I noticed more power below 3k rpms and spool up is faster then it was before.

Definatly go with the 264/272's!

Berkel -- If you are that worried about smog, just get the gears. And if you decide to go no gears and then fail emissions, then at that time you can add gears.

Man... this sounds good. I just lost a "race" on the high end last night to another Evo (caymandiver) who has basically the same mods as me, except I've added IC piping and he's added cams. That made me finally decided to break down and get them. Rich, hopefully I'll see you at Mach V on sat and I can ask some ?s... I'll be there like around 3 or 4 or so. You going?

I would except that I'm out of town at my in-laws this week. I'm right in the middle of dialing in my tune and finishing my Stage 4 mods and now I'm without my car for over a week.
