Dyno Flash "E FLASH!" now available
Big Ups To Al!
I Sent in my stock rom and a 3rd gear pull log file last night at 9:40 pm eastern and had my new rom by 12:30 AM eastern.
I figured it would take at least 12 hours given i sent it in after hours.... I was both wrong and very pleased.

is this ECUflash he same as sending the ECU in to Al? Would it have all the same things done to reprogram my ECU? WHy is it $199 to send the ECU in, but only $49.00 if I do it myself with the cable. I read through some posts in this forum, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Thanks for any help.
Because his normal mail-in flash price is $199 - he does all the work, and that includes return shipping overnight. With e-flash, you have purchased the cable, installed the software, and you do the work of flashing. All he does is modify your ROM and send it back to you. They are 2 different services with different pricing, but you get the same quality tune in the end.
Some people aren't willing to mess with this stuff on their own, so they don't get the benefit of paying less.

I wanted to add that in the case of the $199 service I guarantee the service with a full ecu protection and a two week test trial
When you do the E Flash! you assume the risk that your flashing proceedure is safe
I am working on a manual for how to do safe flashing and will provide that free to those doing E Flash!
Dyno Flash "EFLASH" installed / long post
I just got my EFLASH installed and wanted to post my observations.
First off I am one of the (way) older Evo owners here, have always been a car guy and I would say I am very picky about throttle response and the general drivability of a car.
I will never track or drag race this car (I did a ton of that when I was younger) but I do enjoy everything about this car, handling, braking, power delivery, perfect power curve for every day driving.
Anyway enough of that, on to the good stuff . . .
The idle is up just a tad on the car and feels like it is right where it should be; this thing always felt like it was just a hair low.
The engine runs so much smoother with the new tune it feels like Al added another 8 cylinders to the thing
. This car has always felt a little “fat” (DER, I know they run super rich).
The sweet spot where the engine just starts to come on boost at light throttle is way more noticeable
. I find that I have to back out of the throttle a little more than I used to in order to maintain a normal acceleration rate.
I have always shifted more by feel than by watching a tach and this thing always felt like it was starting to lay down around 5500 or so (dang boost taper).
I have only had a chance to get on the car thru 2nd and 3rd and man what a difference! It feels so weird for this thing to just want to keep on pulling as it approaches redline. Looks like I might need to watch the tach a little more.
I just wanted to say thanks to Al for all his R&D efforts and hard work.
This has got to be the best mod for the dollar bar none.
Prior to getting this tune I could tell that my car seemed to run better at around half throttle or just a little past that.
Before I get pummeled with the “you can’t run an intake without a tune ya noob” I have heard the same thing from a few other owners as well, that they’re car felt “better” at a little less than full throttle.
Here’s my guess (and that’s all it is), my car would hit full boost at just a hair past half throttle. I’m guessing that at that amount of throttle input it was still running closed loop.
On these cars, if you’re at full boost, that’s it, you can push the throttle to the floor but if it’s at full boost, it’s not going to “make more”.
Even before the tune I never felt any signs of the car “pulling timing” at all, no surging, no detonation, but it has always “felt” like it pulled better at partial throttle.
That is all completely gone now, the car sounds pretty wicked and really feels like it wants to keep on pulling.
Thanks again Al for a killer tune

Relax internet hero, I asked something because I was somewhat confused. This board doesn't revolve around you, take a chill pill -you don't have to smart alek everything posted. I read what I read, I comprehend everything I read, I asked a question because it was a bit vague to ME. I was wondering if someone who ALREADY got the flash would later on receive the manual given the manual wasnt ready when buyer bought the flash.
You didn't say that. You just asked if people who purchase it get the manual. Al said they will in plain text. If you want to know if past customers will get it, then ask that question specifically. It's as easy as sending an email, so there's no reason he wouldn't be able to. It's not rocket science.
Al,
It has been over 2 weeks now that I've paid you for the E flash and I have gotten no response whatsoever from you despite me sending you a bunch of emails. I've been waiting patiently but am a little worried now that it's been 2 weeks and I have yet to get a single email from you or the E Flash that I ordered. I also see on the forum that people say it takes a from a couple hrs to 48hrs and it's been over 2 week for me. I just dont understand what the hold up is and why I haven't gotten any response at all from you. At this point I'd like for you to just refund refund my money back to paypal mike@mike1023.com and be done with this whole E Flash debacle. It has been a big waste of my time and you have very poor custermer service. Please let me know ASAP what is going on here.

I think that you should modify your initial post Al. If you are getting the tunes out within 24 hours, or an hour like you have on there... great. If not, then at least change the time frame to 24-48 or even a weeks time. Without doing that, you are just making people who paid the money, thinking that the tune will be done in a day, wait for an extended period of time thinking... "WTF!?"
Not bashing... just pointing out the obvious.

Guys, I have just been totally overloaded beyond human comprehension these past two weeks as I struggle to prepare my car for the WRX vs. EVO shooutout next weekend in Ohio and also travel all over the place tuning
Chicago
Viginia
Maryland and
Lime Rock Park
All in the past two weeks
I have been taking more time that originally expected to create the maps I am sending out and kindly ask for the patience and tolerance of those who have ordered maps.
I will be working on any existing back ordered maps later this evening and I expect that after this weekend I will be back to normal as far as workload. I have specifically taken this weekend off to catch up on loose ends
Thanks AL

Al is there someone else working with you? I try to call and even left a message. It seems Fedex lost my package? I have been waiting for 3 weeks, that's why I'm trying to get my tracking number. Please PM or e-mail me.
Well understand you are overload, but please if you can send me the tracking number...
