Clutch blow out - Exedy Hyper Single !!!!

This is the best - lightest and fastest shifting set up for guys with 350 whp and less

Includes chrome molly flywheel, disk and alum pressure plate

$875.00 shipped fed ex 3 day air

Hyper Single Clutch:

The Hyper Single Clutch is engineered to optimize performance for cars that are moderately modified, but do not require the clutch capacity of a multi-plate clutch. Similar to our multi-plate clutches, it has a forged aluminum cover that is anodized purple. The aluminum cover is stiffer than a stamped cover and therefore allows a higher lever ratio to maintain the pedal efforts at a reasonable level.

All Hyper Clutches come with a steel flywheel and a 6-puck cerametallic facing, spring center damper disc assembly. The disc is generally smaller and thinner than the OEM disc making for lower inertia and therefore quicker, easier shifting and less wear and tear on the transmission synchros. The higher clamp load and cerametallic friction facings give approximately twice the holding torque of the OEM clutch and generally higher than other single plate clutches.

An additional feature of the pressure plate is a series of turbine-like, air flow enhancing vanes that keep the clutch cooler under extreme operating conditions to improve wear life.

So why is this better than a 500 dollar ACT clutch? Sell it to me! Make me want to pay another $400!

The flywheel and T/O bearing that comes with it probably adds to it, not to mention the machined pressure plate housing and increased stiffness that comes along with that. Id say thats a pretty good deal.

I was looking around earlier to day for that exact same kit and the best I found was $899+S/H, and that was from a vendor that is noted to have low prices. So I'm happy I stumbled on this thread. Hope you got some of those kits left.

Just wondering about the engagement of the this clutch and the multiplate clutch? The reason why is in my younger and dumber days i had a 91 turbo RX-7 that I installed a 6 puk cermanic clutch and pressure plate to match, that even after a year of driving i would still kill it or churp the tires taking off sometimes. It was advertised as a street/strip clutch. I did not think it was much of a street clutch.

Al, You seem to have an Excedy connection. What can you get the carbon/carbon for?

This unit comes with the flywheel - when you have a shot clutch you usually need a new flywheel or at least a machine job on it

This unit has a forged alum clutch cover - ACT uses the stock unit they buy from Exedy and upgrade with yellow paint and a stronger spring

This unit weighs less - shifts faster and is smoother
