Nope, just used High Temp (1200 degree) engine paint. a few coats, and well sanded.

did u use the dupli color engine black paint or did u use the rust olem black paint? yeah u should do a write up that would b Nice thanks! and by sanded u mean sanded the sheild first right?

Here is some pics of my heat shield painted with High Heat Dupli-Color 1200 degrees engine paint , it worked great, thanks for the idea.

hrmmm i gotta go buy another dang paint lol i got the silver dupli high temp and it didnt work dont know y got the rust olem paint and it worked but it matte black ! yarg o well! hehe

awsome job. I did the vacum line thing on my evo IV also never really could figure out if why they came with the hard lines. just got the mr and can't wait to start working on it

so does anyone wanna get some more detailed pics or go more in depth on the throttle cable and other stuff to move it all ?

I have Injen CAI it comes with all the IC piping replacements ,its true CAI beacuse it hooks staight down to my IC , so my filter does not hang by my wheel well, it performs good.

You totally inspired me to clean up under the hood! Thanks. BTW, lose the front side engine hook, and reroute the CAS cable under the CAS housing.

You guys with your heat shields need to up the technology level a bit.

CAS - that would be cam angle sensor, on the right end of the exhaust cam.

I just found this thread. That looks Fantastic!! I really like how the upper IC pipe turned out with the Gloss Black finish!! I know what I will be doing tomorrow!

Did you sand down the heatshield or anything? I wanna paint mine tommorow morning but I don't got anything to scrap it down to the metal as bobby said. Also do you really need to let them sit 10 hours before you re-install them back onto the car?
