i will also be including options like an overlay kit and interior trim kit in your choice of genuine aluminum (matching the MOMO wheel) and various colors of carbon fiber (also genuine, of course).
the HVAC unit will be pre-fitted with red illuminated lights to match the oem dash. other colors will be optional at no extra cost.
lets start a sign up list now so i know how many units to stock up for the first batch.

i'm still not accepting payment as i have yet to finish my work. once i'm ready, we'll go ahead and take pre-orders and get things moving for everyone.

he said around $450 for the kit. which in my mind is not bad but also a bit just to do that. becasue then you figer also mini pc or indash somthing and it will be another say from 1000 to 2000 for that. so in my eyes i would like to see two kits. one pre made were we dont have to drill or cut anything and other were we do all work.

F**king Mitsu

anyway, i spent quite a bit on this mod and took a hell of a chance doing it to my own car but it ended up working for me in the end. ask anyone on the boards who has seen my car first-hand and they will tell you that it looks and performs 100% OEM.
i realize the price isnt exactly cheap, but it was much more expensive for me to be the first and to develop the kit i am working on for you all now. compare this price to a simple radio relocation kit @ $65, which is nothing but a cubby and two screws sans instructions.
My kit will include:
Replacement HVAC Controls
Color Matched HVAC Lighting
HVAC Wire Harness
2-DIN Dash Panel/Bezel (alternative options will be in development to house auxillary gauges/electronics)
Radio Relocation Kit to House Climate Controls
Hardware (i.e.- Screws, Bolts, etc)
Illustrated Instruction Manual
Complimentary Orbital Vinyl Graphics
**i might try to accomodate some kind of warranty for the individual HVAC units if it helps you guys feel more comfortable about the kit.
Options will include:
2-DIN Dash Panel/Bezel Overlays (Genuine Aluminum, Carbon Fiber, Custom Colors, etc)
Matching Interior Trim Kits (Genuine Aluminum, Carbon, Custom Colors, etc)
Interior Light Kits (Interior Bulbs)
PM me if there is anything else that you guys would like to see in our USDM evo's. I think Mitsu has short-changed the US market in terms of interior amenities and trim, but i would like to be the one to reverse that for us!!
please add your own names to the list as i am in and out of the office and don't have enough time to add them myself.

I guess this is a good time if any to bring this up, but Actually I was also in line for this little Evo Double-Din Kit. I actually spoke to Spooling Evo about it a few times over PM. I know the trouble he went through because I went through it myself in the end.. I decided to take matters into my own hands, and have a created a lower costing Kit that will use much less work, especially with the HVAC Controls.
1. This kit was hand manufactured and will be molded so I can keep costs down since I'm manufacturing them myself.
2. This kit allows you to keep all the electronic controls intact such as the HVAC. Once great feature about doing things is that you will save $$$ on installation or conversion to the HVAC that EvoX is offering. AND best of all you get to keep the MAX A/C feature that is not offered on the EvoX Kit.
3. I also work with A Body/Paint specialist so I will be offering these kits in so far 2 colors, FlatBlack and / Silver. I guess we can do other colors but that's all I thought about for now.
4. The COST to produce these are going to be much lower. I don't know exactly how much so far but only 2 plastic parts are needed, the double din and the bottom HVAC Cubby conversion. All other electronics are OEM.
Here are pics below.
Please Note: My own project isn't finished yet, so the color matching is off. The bottom cubby is shiny black because it will make it easier to mold off of once it's done. Not to mention I need to get these painted so I didn't put it all quite together yet.
One thing to note, the above picture of the 2-DIN is actually a Evo 9 Din, and I modified it to now include the CLIPS ON THE BACK OF IT. So it simply snaps into place. I will need to mold this as well. Also The Screen on my personal PC project includes a screw that makes this screen removable in case it ever breaks. As posted as a link on the beggining pages of this thread my Project has always been a Car PC so if the screen is off it's because the PC in the glove box is not there yet.
Any questions.. PM or respond here.. Enjoy
One more thing I don't mean any disrespect To Spooling Evo, His kit is just as nice, he just took another direction. I personally would have atleast liked to order his 2-DIN from him instead of creating my own but now that I think of it, I like the texture on this double din as it's more OEM than the scaly one that he has.
I'd also like a list created for how many people would like my "Jedi 2-Din/Cubby Kit"
One Last Question- I have a Silver Evo do you think I should paint the already semi-silver dash pieces to match the Evo 9 2-Din including the Cubby or should I keep it Straight Black.. I'm having a hard time deciding. At the same time I don't want it to look too Ricey.

wow threadjacker, start your own thread man.
Anyways I like the other kit that spoolingEVOx is making, the new Eclipse HVAC controls look more like the jdm ones. Just get that bezel in the stock color and bam it would be perfect
