well, I'll probably get flamed on this because of the staggering number of sycophantic flunkies on this thread, but my god, 15 pages of pure drivel guys. There's like maybe a half dozen posts so far that are of value.

Here's what I don't understand though. Rich paid an installer to do this work, and now HE'S patenting it??! He needs to contact a lawyer and start up a company to sell a $4-500 kit? What a total stroke. How about letting that installer in on some of the action from your capitalizing on your 'innovation'. As if nobody ever thought to put an LCD screen in a car....you're a real Thomas Edison there Mr. Innovator.

And I hate to burst your bubble about having the 'cleanest' evo in the world, but here's a newsflash. OUR CARS HAVE CHEAP INTERIORS. surprise, it's a 30K car and Mitsu spent WAY more time getting the drivetrain engineering right (or as close to it as they are capable) and really cheaped out on the interior. Having the cleanest evo is a pretty shallow victory. It's just a fancy lancer from the inside, guy.

I think it's great that jedi is making a kit too though that actually has cost in mind. Looks great too. But there's something neither of you have addressed. Where are you supposed to put the DIN head unit? That's the thing I haven't been able to figure out yet.

Sorry Rich, but you just come off like a totally pretentious and hopelessly ****, toolbox. My apologies.

Well, flame away fellas, I'm probably going to be mighty unpopular around here for saying this stuff so bluntly, but I couldn't stand watching the congratulatory ******** any longer over such a small thing.

i'm sorry, but who the hell are you and where do you get off trashing me, my efforts, this thread, or this conversion?

if you actually read this thread you might answer your own criticisms:

I have had a company selling retail performance parts and accessories for a year and a half now jackass. By no means is this kit my reason to "start" one, it's just a means of helping it grow and this kit is the first development i've made on my own to date to make that happen. Not bad IMO considering I also have a full-time job in pharmaceuticals.

The installer is a close friend of mine and my family. When I had all the parts on hand, I asked him if he would help me with my install since I could benefit from his expertise and access to a Lancer/EVO wiring diagram. He's going to continue installing these kits on the side, so i'm not quite sure what you mean by letting the installer capitalize..

I imagine millions of ppl have thought about putting an LCD screen in their Lancers or EVO's. But how many have? Thank you..

When did I claim to have the cleanest EVO in the world? What do cheap and clean have to do with each other? Lancer on the inside or not, this car is my pride and joy and if I can change the look of my interior completely, without compromising quality, I sure will because that is the part of my EVO that I spend the most time in. Are you that unhappy with your interior that you need to bash me for being happy with mine?

I am happy that Jedi has a kit out there. It gives EVO/Lancer owners more that one option. However, if you read his post, you'll notice several distinct differences between Jedi's kit and my own which account for the difference in price..

Jedi's kit doesnt include an actual bezel. It's an overlay..

My kit utlizes true, single-din mitsubishi relocated HVAC controls.. not relocated oem EVO/Lancer controls, which angle downward as shown in his pics..

My kit accomodates and supports an actual Headunit. Not just a screen..

The fact that you couldnt answer that question yourself with these "15 pages of pure drivel" explains the type of person you are as well as why you posted this ridiculously immature, naiive, and demeaning attack on me and my kit. If you read the thread, you would see that I include a dash pocket for use with the oem single-din radio. thanks again and see below..

My apologies that this thread or any of its contents were of no interest to you. It's only drawn out this long because I want to make this kit perfect and as easy to install as possible for everyone who orders it. Also, i have other responsiblities that I can't turn away from.

The only component of this thread that is drivel is the one that was posted by the only syncophant here.. you.

I swear, people like you make me want to throw professionality out the window..

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for your contribution. I guess theres always that complete douche bag that has to add in some senseless insignificant post at one time or another. (Hence you)

On another note, I know Rich personally and he has spent tons of time and money trying to make the highest quality kit out there with the absolute best intentions. If you are trying to indicate that Rich is doing this soley for the purpose of making tons of $ on the project, you are wrong.

This is a free country and you can say what you want, but I believe that youve taken it a step too far. If you dont like what Rich is doing and you think he's charging too much, go cry yourself to sleep thinking about it. There is an obvious interest in the kit he is producing so why make negative comments trying to put him down? Are you that bored that your sole reason for posting those comments was to bring down someone else for innovating a new plan because YOU dont like it? Geez man get a life!

These people know Jedi is making a kit and its not as good as Richs, hence the price variation.

Your the kind of guy who really makes these forums suck. Funny part is, you said flame on, which is basically acknowledging what you said is naive and prone to starting an argument, just what we need. Unreal.

Rich
I think you have done an excellent job so far. I think that is looks very close to the Auto climate control. sweet.
What was the function you said you had lost, over the original unit.
Recirculating air or something.
Keep up the good work.
