didn't wanna post the boring old "look at my new evo" thread so i waited till i had something kinda different. My brand new 05 RS at 'bout 3000lbs. I also remove the pass. seat . Also just order the universal F1 mirrors for $30. Just going to save $200 and custom mount them. Couple other ideas too, but don't wanna give away all the secrets.

put your seats back in they weigh close to nothing . and the carpet as well from my experience all that sound deadening and carpet probably adds up to around less than 25lbs. or not even. so its not worth it.
should have responded to these comments in the original post... ok hope this covers all of them.
1. yes it does make a difference
2. 10 lbs= 1hoursepower, plus the improved braking and handling
3. every lil bit adds up.
4. if you bought and evo for comfort, you bought the wrong car
if you do the math, so far i've taken off 200lbs. Thats 20HP....FOR FREE!
not angry at all, but any other complaints from people who obviously don't get the point?

200 pounds is pretty good weight savings for a car, u've basically overcome your weight and then some. Like he said, that's pretty big, imagine your friend in your car. You'll definitely feel the difference.
The next biggest thing should be going on a diet
I know I can shave about 5-10 pounds off of myself
Whoops, pressed the submit button prematurely..
I would suggest changing the wheels to lighter ones. I don't know how much the stock wheels weigh, but I am sure you can do pretty good weight savings by getting lighter wheels. And exchanging the cat with a test pipe saves u a few pounds too, those cats are somewhat heavy
Good luck with your project man, keep us updated.

Dang 200 lb saving! I only did 90 lbs on my RS. My interior will be the last thing for the diet. light weight really helps a lot on many things. I like the quickness at the low rpm range the most ( something you can't have unless you go for the stroked engine).
why, why, why, why, why. If the evo wasnt built for comfort, than why didnt mitsu. just put some home depot buckets in there with seat belts. Just because its not MB surely doesnt mean it wasnt made with comfort in mind.
Not to mention your seats and carpet = around 10 pounds.
My GSR will smoke your RS with just a re-flash and still not look like a piece of s h i t...
But hey, to each his own, its still sad....
