30dayold RS stripped nekkid
Do these 3 mods and you will be set:
Replace ur stock seats (35 lb each) with aftermarket seats (12 lbs). thats close to 50 lbs right there.
Aftermarket Exhaust system. a Ti exhaust will save you about 25 lbs. busher racing has the lightest (non-Ti) exhaust out there that saves i think 20 lbs.
Cat delete another 7-8 lbs
small battery : 21 lbs
Thats a total of about 100 lbs
Dont forget lighter wheels, brakes and an AL flywheel. you can get another 50 lbs from those 3 if done right.
Other cool free mods: remove trunk items "spare tire, jack, tools and so on (50 lbs) and both front and rear crash beams (30 lbs)
Good luck.

You guys are a bunch of haters. Every forum I see where someone does anything different people cant stop hating, its like a bandwagon.
How about you all get lives and grow up?
His car is obviously going to be a road race car. If you don't like it then don't do it to your evo!
Its amazing how childish alot of you act.

Hey man,
Nice RS. I like the stripped down look, personally. My e36 M3 looked the same way. Quick comment on your harnesses, and only because I used to sell them, and have actually helped install them in lots of Nextel Cup driver's cars (Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Elliot Sadler, etc) You can't mount them safely that far back on top of where the rear tray used to be. They need to either be wrapped to a harness bar behind your seat, or mounted to the factory lapbelt mounting points in the back seat. (or, if its a 3-piece setup, you can use the c-pillar in the rear where the shoulder belt connects). Check out www.hmsmotorsport.com for my credentials and to see some pics of our cup driver's cars, all using Schroth harnesses (HMS is the official North American distributor of Schroth products) , or hit me back with a PM if you have any questions. The reason you can't mount them that far back is the amount of harness that will elongate in a crash. With all that material between the seat back and the mounting point, you'll still hit the wheel super hard in any sort of front or rear impact. It may be temporary, since you may be adding a harness bar, but its worth your life and safety to mount your harnesses correctly.
