Yep! mine is the oem. that's why it fits.

I quickly emailed them back about a week after installing mine and wanted the dealer to investigate what was going on. Pretty helpful bunch of people... the fitment they said was something they never dealt with before (pre IX models). I sent them two pictures of my install just to show them what I was talking about... the guy went to their new car lot and said that some of the new cars also had similar gaps. At that point, I felt a little relieved, but still asked on how to fix it. Finally, the tech guy suggested to use a heat gun to try to mold it in better. Haven't done it yet, but will definitely do once I get the chance... oh well... I guess, the evo don't need to be perfect all the time...
thanks for your input. do you think I should call them out on this as well? maybe we can get refunded and keep our VG

How did you take it off? Or did you never have it fully installed?

I seem to always see you reply right when I log on. Did you use anything to get the adhesive off? Did you just buy more tape for the 2nd try?

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I just installed my GG VG on my GG IX and wanted to mention my experience. Looks like the gap you guys are talking about is there. I've tried moving it front and back and side to side, still no flush fit. I guess the gap is there to stay. Maybe the summer heat in a few months will mold it into place...haha.

i have the same problem. i even took my first VG back and exchanged it for another one and i still have the same issue. this is an oem VG straight from my local Mitsu dealer. i have a feeling as someone mentioned before its due to it being made for the aluminum roof, but Mr. SUAVEs VG fits fine.....oh well!

Here are some pics of another VG victim

I just put a red OEM VG on my 04 RS. I have similar gaps, though not as big. No matter how I tried, I could not place it such that the gaps were completely gone.

I've 03' WW and the gap is there but, not bad as these two evos. If you push edges back it will fit perfect but, it will not line up correctly. They should of take some time to put them on.
