How useful are your sun visors now?
Just a note on bolt in cages. I have seen passengers actually get their hands pinched by them due to flex. The passenger was using the cage to brace for corners and when the car returned to the straight he found his hand trapped between the cage and the side of the car. From what I understand it was fairly painful and not particularly easy to free him. Granted this was an Autopower cage in a Porsche and not an Evo. And, yes, this was an FIA approved cage.
To do it correctly a weld in cage is the only way to go.
I hope you don't brain yourself in an accident

yes weld ins are better...no debating that. Using a cage to brace for corners? Huh? Was he a passenger?
I've seen nightmares happen with weld in cages too. Most notable was a Mustang SVO owner at Bridgehampton (early 90's when they still ran there), who broke numerous bones when his car rolled and the cage crushed on his back....there is no accounting for all "what if's" in the event of an accident. And yes, te cage was done by someone who does cages for a living and who has done so for 25 + years.
The point being....we are only truly safe when you don't hit anything at all

i think ppl are quick to judge about products. just because he rather show his car in a car show rather than track it. you guys just quick to judge. and also saying just get a real cage? i would think its the same, metal is metal. as long he aint a dumbass driver.

im pretty sure one sick lambo is getting racing harness....him and the front passenger will be strap in w/ little movement.. ...im pretty sure this will help greatly w/ possible incident of head banging on bars...
just to recap for those who dont read throught the whole thread....The benifit of the bolt in roll cage is to increase chassis stiffness although its not race legal its not street legal either... weld in roll cage is not street legal either....a full weldin cage can run aout 2000+ this bolt in is about 700...becuase both is not street legal if you happpen to get a fix it ticket...you can unbolt it...
although his purpose of the cage is more show then anything it still functional and cant really be considered as rice .. he can still track it if he decides to do small track event where roll cage are not required...at all track events helmets are required so no head banging there either

But if you're trying to impress people at car shows, hey, what difference does it make.
