You said that they are FIA, which they are not. You said that CR-Mo is legal, which it is not.

. It was implied by your response that the bolt in cage that's barely a cage was FIA approved.

you're way off. Even belted in with a 4/5 point 3" harness any of the upper halo bars can and will come into contact with your head in a crash. I was in my racecar belted in with 5point 3" belts and when I had a crash. my helmet was scuffed by the winshield roll bar. At rest belted in that bar is over 5" from my head. Routinely driving a car with a cage on the street is extremely foolish. Be careful.

Heck, I don't know how many times autoXing that I have banged my helmet on my B-pillar in a spin situation. IFF you spin in real life.... good luck.

This cage != performance. Don't kid yourself. If you want it for show, that's fine. However, it makes your car NON-street legal, and if you take this to a track day sanctioned by a REAL governing body and try to COMPETE (not HPDE).... good luck. You will still need a roll bar.

Hey, to each his own though. Enjoy it.

Now, if you want to start talking about harnesses, if you dont get a 6point (anti-submarie) you are wasting your time. Also, if you dont get some form of HANS and a HANS helmet at the same time -- you are also wasting your time (*for function). Doing these things WRONG can actually INCREASE you chances of getting hurt WORSE.

i could have sworn i read some where and was told by some local shops that it does stiffen up the chassis...now i guess your $100 front sway bar may go up against the cage but my point was that the cage was not just total show and had some function...i get it...its dangerous to have a cage for street driving....and to some of you it stupid....y'all are entitled to ur opinions...i think it looks clean and onesiklambo is aware of the consequences and if he still wants to rock it then its his choice...

Well hey, it "looks clean", that's enough, right?
