I believe the UK and Japanese versions are electronic whereas the US models are controlled by cables. So no it won't work. There is a thread about a guy who makes relocation kits for our controls. I suggest you try that.

Yeah, I wanted to know this exact same thing, but the bad news is, is that it seems to be either EXTREMELY hard to do, or just plain impossible. If you click on my name and look at the threads I've created you can see the thread I am talking about.

hey, the swap can't be done without a HUGE investment in sensors, wiring, and a multitude of parts to convert from a manual HVAC system to an electronic one.

if you want to relocate your controls to make room for a 2-DIN, check out the link in my sig for the group buy. we're offering the first 100 orders at the GB price of $250.

But what if he takes the whole system from a wrecked jdm, meaning sensors and everything.

goodluck with that if you're willing to spend the thousand(s) of dollars in parts and labor needed to make that whole conversion work.

honestly, with what i've already invested in getting this kit to accomodate two DINs as efficiently and easily as possible, i can't possibly imagine how expensive that setup would cost. just to have an electronic HVAC unit, i don't see the logic in spending that much more money when all that really matters is having two DIN's.

that's just my .02
