Great ideas guys keep the coming. The car like I said is being completly repainted and disassembled, it is at a buddys shop who does most of their insurance work thru progressive (my ins co.). Basically what happened is my car got destroyed by rock chips and is being repainted. They are removing all the trim bumpers etc to do the paint properly. The shop offered to do a color change because now would be the time if I do decide to do it, I'm sure I'd have to pay a little extra to do it right which isnt a problem.

I guess my only questions would be how do they paint the engine bay (pull the motor?), also how do they do the inside (trunk, jambs, etc). I know these would be better questions for the body shop but when you do a complete color change this is typically what is done. I'm not gonna drive around and Evo with custom paint, say red or white for instance and have a blue engine bay!

I definitly like the color ideas, I was also thinking about quicksilver FX and Royal Saphire Pearl.... both supra colors. I also thought about trying to get some top secret gold paint, Unfortunatly its like $465/pint.

If you want your engine bay painted, you will have to remove the motor. I'm sure they could do something on the strut towers, and the front beam without lifting the motor, but if u wanted the whole thing done right, the motor would have to be pulled.

However, if you choose to go with another shade of blue, you may not have to repaint your engine bay, sure the shade might be off slightly, but it'll save you money and from possibly having any problems down the road, from having the motor pulled, and then put back. Ya kno?

 

Black base with a blue clear would be SICK as hell.
