Just curious why you have taken off the lid to the airbox? obviously you want more air, but wouldn't this allow more hot air to flow in there?

 

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if he's got a clear cover on there. . J/K. . haha.

It gives more power believe it or not.. I tested this on my 03 Evo and so did a friend of mine on here.. I dynoed it got a baseline , i took the cover off , dynoed it again and it picked up power right after the dyno run, i dont remember how much it was thou...

Black roof? Do you mean black hood? If so, its cf

 

Interesting, I'm all for cheap horsepower. Since the lid is off, have you been washing the filter more then when you had the lid on? Was the gain enough to feel on the butt dyno? Im going to take the lid off when I leave for school tonite and see what kind of difference it makes. I'll log a few pulls with the lid on and without the lid to see if we get any changes in the logs.

 

yes i clean it very offten.. I felt a little more pick up on the top end.. I have a friend with an Evo IX that asked me why i took it off and i told him.. He took his cover off and called me and told me he DID feel a difference.. I dont know where my dyno sheets are.. I will be dynoing my car soon and im gona make the same test again
