on one side the bar kinda hooks onto a bracket. you need to take something strong to stick in between and twist it.. also push up off of the bracket. These hold tension because they are twisted. If you arnt careful they will spring and possibly wreck your face. Once you get under there and look you will see whats up. Its easy. Just gotta be a little careful not to let it spring crazy.

word of caution.... once you take it out.... have fun getting them back in... its 100x tougher. I skinned every knuckle trying to put one back. At that point it would be easier to buy a lift kit. lol

I can imagine. I'll probably end up replacing them with the RS torsion bars.

thats cool.... But for the price (exact same price) I personally would rather get the trunk lift kit that I bought from red line tuning.

I have to admit that's a good option also.

Ok, so I completely over thought how to get my '03 torsion bars out today but point is, they're out. I have the RS ones and am trying to figure out how exactly I'm going to go about getting these things in. I noticed that the RS bars have less of a bend in their axis so as not to be so sprung obviously but has anyone installed these weaker bars? I've literally disassembled everything on an evo aside from this and a bit concerned as to how I'm going to get these pretensioned again.

its very simple. i'll just go behind the car, hold down the trunk lid and use my key to open. its not that hard.

I prefer to do things properly. Now to anyone who has done this and has relevant info pertaining to the question it would be greatly appreciated.
