Ok I just got my UK badges and I am going to paint them black cause as everyone knows they IX dont come in black. I guess my issue is how is everyone painting them? Since the clear sticky tape is on the top side to lay them against the car. Can you peel back the clear tape to paint them? Do you take of the tape and paint them and then apply them to the car one by one? Or do you paint them once there on the car? If you paint them while there on the car how did you avoid overspray? Yea peel the top clear film off, leave the bottom white piece attached, paint it w/e color, let dry for a day, then put the clear part back on hoping it will stick ( some hairspray should work) then put on your IX. Thats the only way I can think of it.

 

NMFDChris has the painting part right. If the clear plastic won't go back on, you could try saran wrap or any other clear plastic wrap. I think that would probably cling to the letters enough so you could mount them. Another idea would be to get double sided tape and run a strip across all the letters. Then try putting back on the clear wrap that came with the kit.

I have the same kit and kept mine chrome on my TB Evo IX.
