While I might just have a meager grasp of automotive technology I've seen my fair share of drop in piston replacements. Every stock bore size piston that is aftermarket usually tries to compensate for the cylinder wall to piston clearance difference demanded with forged pistons. There are numerous things that need to be kept in mind when factoring this compensation. How old is the motor and how much has the normal wear and tear enlarged the bore? Out of roundness of the cylinder bores. Variance from bore to bore in the same block. Variance between blocks. We are talking about values measured in .000x - .00xx of an inch.

I never implied you needed main bearings. You swapped rods so the crank should have never come out. It would probably have been nice to replace the main bearings while in there as it really wouldn't have been much more work. So what prompted this upgrade? If I'm following your thread properly you just had this kit installed and tuned and made good numbers. Now all of a sudden you added rods and pistons to your motor and retuned. If someone has a car that is not damaged and they just got a multi thousand dollar job done, I'd think they'd want to enjoy the car for a little bit before dropping another couple of thousand on the car immediately don't you? But hey I guess you ran into some spare cash and figured you'd spend the money now so you wouldn't have to pay later right? Deja vu might be in your future.

I wonder if you would run a Stratus in a little bit.

I blew a head gasket due to a clog in my alky line. I'm not going to lie, it could have been much worst. I run the car on the street like you would run it at the track though Run alky long enough and you'll learn that you have to pay to play.

Yes, what a car is theoretically capable of based on HP/TQ is different than what it actually does based on the 1. the driver and (assuming same conditions for the runs) and 2. which car is better suited for its power in terms of gearbox, tires, powerband, etc... Capable = perfect world, Actually = results. I'd expect your car to trap near 130, if it doesn't, we can go from there.

I'd like to see track numbers from your car, thank you for being logical and I don't want you to break anything else, I'm fine with seeing a trap speed to match those dyno #'s.

By the way, I put the alky controller in limp mode for a week on accident, ran it hard, and thanks to the well tuned low octane map hardly noticed it was off. I'm at almost 3 months with the alky now. No troubles here.

I decided to add pistons, rods, and aem ems because Peter/Brad adviced me that not doing so with a 4'' intake on the stock MAF, 1000cc injectors on a stock ecu was very unstable. Also, he adviced me that building the motor while it was in prime condition was logical and the stresses at the power levels I wanted + alky factor would at one point would cost me twice as much. Oh and the drivability was ****ty on the stock ecu. In essence I did the rods and pistons because I want to push 600 or until the fuel pump maxes out on c-16

34turbo-ok cool you got 524awhp...thats great...put you money where your mouth is and run 10s....maybe you have i dont know...i mean for christ sake you have a evo with CHROME WHEELS and EVOM on your intercooler( i mean evom is cool and all but come on man)

and 524awhp is nice but ill guarantee my car will do that with just 117 and 28psi...and i trapped 123mph on 92 octane,22psi and stock clutch with out launching one bit...lets see some traps/times

The 524 was one run correct? What were the "near 500" numbers after you detuned it? Honestly, just wondering.

I'll run 10s if you promise to pay for my tranny/TC. However I will run it to show the trap speed just to end this debate. Its actually "MOVE>" when you see it in your rear view mirror

524/400 corrected as the car sits in my garage. I lost torque due to lower psi.

Looks like either we are too young to get into a club or we are too old and we talk about nights like that as "the good ole days".
