ANOTHER 35r 56K No Way!
Well just added AEM EMS, Ross drop in pistons, and Eagle rods to the mix along with one step colder plugs and hks dli ii. The car made the same power with only 29psi!!! I told Brad to stop at that point. In a couple of days we will be doing the c-16 tune. Lets see where the walbro could take me before maxing out
Oh, in case people are wondering the car pulls like a raped ape...

Finally it is done
I need a ride in it. I don't wanna imagine how hard it will pull with alky, now my pump gas will feel slow hehe
You guys were tuning late again?

Actually the wheels do look much better in person
Congrats on the build and numbers, I guess Brad can tune a car afterall
Actually he is the one who tuned my GVR-4 (11.20@126.54 3 years ago). . And no they are not a jiffy lube for me, They do so much I dont know where to start but the easiest way is to say that AMS Chicago does the engine tuning and provides parts and overall support. VIP does all the work on my car from suspension mods and tuning, to trans and clutch work, to racing mods to keep my car competetive with the big boys. They have even come to a few races to support me as my crew. Plain and simple, if they didnt do a great job, I wouldnt use them or have their name on my car. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.
Marty

So we have oil change, clutch and suspension mods? What suspension mods? What is the tuning thats done?
I have it highlighted for reference.
Marty Lets be serious. Its and AMS car. Either way your half the reason the car does well.

Hopefully you guys at least ran a ball hone through the bores before dropping in those rod/piston assemblies and gapped the rings right. Were the bearing clearances checked with some plastigauge on reassembly? New bearings did go in right?Funny how some people and companies don't know that forged pistons require a looser clearance than cast pistons. Forged pistons can take a lot of abuse but that is because they expand under heat. So you are now running forged pistons in a block that was machined for the stock cast pistons. Welcome to a short lived engine build as you WILL have problems down the road.

nice!!!
Well, finally my car is completed!! After 4 months of issues with a blown head gasket, starter issues, lost parts etc... its put back together thanks to Martin and his awesome crew at VIP Garage in Sterling, VA. I will have the car tuned by Brad at ISP tomorrow to see how much power it makes. Until then enjoy the pics

So what you are saying is that you bent a rod or cracked a piston and instead of doing a proper engine build you ghettofied it? I bet the company working on your car suggested the drop in piston replacements and your block probably never came out of the car eh? I mean it took 6 months for the machine shop to turn around a head so there is no way in heck they already took possession and turned around a shortblock assembly is there?
Hopefully you guys at least ran a ball hone through the bores before dropping in those rod/piston assemblies and gapped the rings right. Were the bearing clearances checked with some plastigauge on reassembly? New bearings did go in right?

I'm sure you can call up Ross and take that reasoning up with them. The rings were slowly grinded and measured continuesly to match their required specifications to be dropped in to the shortblock, and the specs were set to make them pretty much loose as a goose. Thats why JE and Ross makes drop in pistons. BTW, as far as I know Jrod at Buschur built his motor the same way
Oh, and call me when there is a DTM evo that can run me. I know you guys are still looking

Move to Florida or something and start over. I'm not being mean, I'm just stating the facts. I'm looking out for you bro. All we do at meets and events now is make fun of DTM!
How much ammo do you want to give us?
thanks for the call with the info today bro. glad she is doing so well. call me monday so we can setup the other stuff we talked about.
Marty, thanks for the kind words but i'm not worried about trying to validate us to the koolaid crew. All those nice plaques and trophies on your car at hyperfest today are all we could ever need.

What is this "Oh, and call me when there is a DTM evo that can run me. I know you guys are still looking " crap?
The first time Carlos suggested you race a DTM car he clearly stated you should race David Brandt. He has a simple GT35R kit but will gladly run you. I don't want to speak on his behalf but I'm sure he feels the same way. Please don't make Carlos race you in "betty" either, that would be just plain embarassing.

What did you do for him to help him get those plaques? Still not a straight answer...are you embarrassed? Honestly, I'm just curious at this point. I don't understand why you can't just say what you do for Warrtalon and Marty. Simple question with an apparently complex answer.

As for Dave, just tell him I'm ready when he is. Is race gas allowed? I'm cool if not. We could set up Memo's car on some race gas and that will be that for "betty"
We roll deep if you just want to talk about other people's cars
While we're at it, I'll run your S4 too. Trust me, it will be embarrasing...BTW, Carlos owns betty but does he even drive it?? It sits at DTM for free work and parts which he pays for. Plus its a track car. Where are you going with it. My car is a street car so is Memos but I think we all know what is going to happen when a 700awhp Buschur car like Memo's runs the "betty"
I know I'm being a dick but here is the simple fact. DTM DOES NOT HAVE THE FASTEST EVO IN THE AREA AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL!

like i said i am not worried about trying to justify anything to anyone from the koolaid crew. specially not some typical teenage fanboy. Marty said it all.
