paint matching to MR Graphite Gray

I'm looking for some advice/suggestions on getting something like a side mirror enclosure painted to match the Graphite Grey MR colour. I have spare ones to work with so that once painted I can just swap out the stock items with them.

Do auto-body paint places happily do small jobs on a few plastic parts? I'm not sure what they would likely charge for it - any ballpark figures? I haven't really needed to work with a shop before, other than the time the Dealer paid a partial repaint on my old black 2G Eclipse (that flaked off clearcoat problem they had on the dark cars).

For a DIY rattle-can solution, any suggestions on where to get a paint that matches? Model code/numbers that you guys have found to work well would be helpful.

If its not heinously expensive to have a paint shop do it, I'd prefer that option as the results of any other attempts at painting I've made in the past were 'sub-optimal'...

Thanks,
-j

automotivetouchup.com. A39 is the code for the GG and they have the can spray so you don't need an air compressor to do the painting. make sure you buy their clear spray too.

thanks for that website. i got a few questions...

what kind of prep work is involved for the spray can stuff? (do i need all their prep cans and stuff too? sanding, primer, cleaner etc.)

if i want to paint a hood or a trunk? how much will i need per coat?
will i need multiple coats of basecoat?, clear coat?

how long will the paint hold up?

Yeah, I'd be interested in knowing what sort of surface area coverage one could expect from a can of the base colour.

Knowing that settling dust is among the biggest risks to good results with DIY painting, I found an interesting link on making your own paint booth:

first of all buy their paint prep or wax remover to clear out any dust, grime and dirt. In my case, there was no prep needed and it was just a first try. I taped all exposed part, decals, etc. if the surface is smooth , just sand it with 1500 sandpaper. instructions say to spray 3-4 coats but spray evenly and wait 10-15 minutes between coats. I used 4 coats, then wait an hour before spraying the clear. the clear is moderate to wet coats of 3-4. again 10-15 minutes between coats. wait 24 hours for using a rubbing compound. since I wanted the paint to match up or blend with the neighboring areas, I sanded the clear coated finish with 2000 grit to a haze finish(don't worry). after that I applied fine cut 3M rubbing compund and applied it. the shine and finish looks like the original

FYI, I did not use a primer as I did not want any discoloration. It is holding up so far.

just have a shop do it you wont have to blend any door or fenders just for a side side mirror ...DONT use a spary can the color and clear is just not going to look like it came from a paint/body shop..
