3m clear bra
3m clear bra
Found a place through the 3m site thats close to me. However they want about $800-$900 for the clear stuff on the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors. Also included would be full tints all around. What you guys think? Sounds like a lot of money, and I am also going to get a 2 way paging alarm which will empty my pockets and more. Im trying to ebay off some stuff just to pay for this
Going to shop around some more but thats my first over the phone quote.

One problem is I have to leave the car there because he said it will take all day to do it. I dont feel too secure doing that as the car is not broken in, and Im afraid they will go joyriding in the car. What would you do if your in my position?

Thanks for the input, Ill shop around some more before I divulge into the 3m stuff. I think it would be better to get this done sooner than later. Although the alarm seems to be pretty important as well. 3m or Alarm, hmm, this will be on my mind this weekend.
take a picture of the milliage so that you have proof. Without proof it would be their words against theirs.
And if you cant prove that they did take it for a joyride, the arguments would simply be stupid like my dad can beat your dad

A buddy of mine owns a body shop, and we did the side skirts a few weeks ago. That stuff is tough to work with and will leave a "dirty" edge after a few weeks. I don't think they can do the whole nose in a single piece so keep that in mind.
We are gonna do some sections of the nose, but even with a heatgun that stuff is still hard to getr around all the contours of the nose.

just to let you guys know if you go to mexico you can get any color and darkness for 20 to 30 bucks!!!!! just make sure you get a recomendation from someone as some people that do it just plain suck.
i spoke with two people at the Import Life 3 show in Portland, OR a few weeks ago. From what I gleaned from the rep that does the 3m product it's hard to work with, leaves bubbles that trap condensation and the fit over a non-flat hood is dubious. He also said that they don't like to use it on dark colored cars because the bubbles really show.
There is a produt whose trade name is "Clear Bra" has a 4mm hard layer and an 8mm soft layer on top. The gent who was selling the product had it on a Subie that had the product on for over a year. The fit was perfect and there were no blemishes on the car.
He said they do an initial fit and a month later they go over the covered areas again and make sure there are no bubbles or anything. For the entire hood, front grill/lip area, mirror pod fronts, headlights and front quarterpanels he said it would be about $1000. The 3m product for similar coverage was about $750.
The 3m product was not very impressive at the show.
Good luck
