Trouble installing Pioneer DVD head unit:

Ok,

Ive got a crutchfield harness and ive matched all the wires up..

constant, switched power, etc.

ive grounded a couple of places i KNOW to be good ( have other stuff there also, and i took those off to test it )

what could be problem? bogus HU?

ps.. i soldered each wire. very clean.

im so exhausted, why cant things just work

It's not turning on? Check your antenna cable. Some head units require u to plug in the antenna b4 you are able to turn it on. My Pioneer head unit requires that antenna be plugged in.

what's the problem exactly? it doesn't switch on? i grounded my pioneer hu to one of the 10mm bolts up and to the right behind the hu. fyi, though i love pioneer to death, and swear by them, i have gotten a DOA hu before. might be a bad unit.

WHEW... thanks guys...

but the problem was that i'm a dork.... haha. turns out unplugged one too many switches taking the stocker out (wasnt even needed), and i forgot to plug it back. doh!

everything is cool now. this thing is beautiful.

it just made me very sad/angry that it didnt spring to life when i started the car. all better now! im gonna go test a DVD, then take some pix

Vanilla which one did u get? I am plannin to get the 6500DVD one with the built in cd/dvd player. Do you need harnesses to install? Post pix please!

yea i got the 6500...

plays it all, DVD, CD, MP3, VCD, home mades...

ill post up another thread with some helpful hints and stuff.

How much did you pay and where you get it. I saw cheapest for $1000. Do you need anything special for intsall? ALso, waht kind of security does it have? I kno its not possible to have a detachable face.
