Nice runs

If we had a downhill track it will be going strait into the ocean! Since our tracks are close to sea level.

Glad you saw that. 4TUN8 made that for me from a compilation of pics and vids I got from over the years. I need to start video'ing my drag runs again from the helmet cam...

Haha, true enough!

You guys are crazy - what's up with all the downhill stuff?

Is the high elevation really that bad at Bandimere?

These guys seem to benefit greatly from the downhill action...

Nice pics, and I uploaded that vid at 1.5Mb a sec!! I know it may sound weird coming from me, but you need to get rid of those clear lights!
Just noticed you were both trying to stage first lol!! I do that too

Petey, ask and ye shall receive! Look at all the pics - I put on my new tails AT the track, haha. Finally rid of those jewel boxes!

Yeah, it was eliminations with a pro tree, so I like to get ready quickly. He went even more quickly and actually didn't give me a courtesy stage, but it didn't matter.

What made you test your car down the 1/4 again? I thought you were almost against it.

Not against it - it's just not nearly as fun as autox, which is not nearly as fun as road racing. However, I've always gone back out when I get new mods in order to see how much I've gained and to see what I can accomplish. I try to maximize every setup at every step along the way. My recent changes were the first big ones in 2 years on the power side of the house...

(sounds like you shift early..maybe im wrong?)
what rpm do you shift on:
1st to 2nd gear?
2nd to 3rd gear?
3rd to 4th gear?

Those are some good 1/4 mile numbers for the power you're making

Yes, I shift much earlier than most due to how my powerband is affected by altitude. Look at my dynograph:

My logs show that I drop around 1500-1600rpm from one gear to the next, so if you place that range on my dynograph and pick the point at which the avg WHP is highest, you get 6350rpm or so. I shift right around 6400-6500, since load is not exactly replicated on a dyno, and that just feels right to me (hard to quantify it exactly).

The result is that I think I make my 1-2 at or before the 60', 2-3 well before the 330', and the 3-4 is right after or while straddling the 330' (check the vid). From there, I cruise in 4th the rest of the 950' or so. At sea level, I used to shift around 7100rpm due to my peak WHP being closer to 6600rpm as you can see here:

Notice how I would want to be right in the 5500-7000rpm range in every gear, which is way higher than my current powerband.
