I used Dupont Chromaclear clearcoat from work. I'm sure not many have access to a spray gun & compressor but if you can somehow manage to get both the results are so worth it. The gloss finish looks better than you would see on a taillamp strait from the factory.

As for the red reverse lights... well I have some inspection connections so I'm probably going to have to go that route.

Very nice, could you also do this with a black paint to get tinted tails? Or would they just turn out black and no light would come though?

The light probably wouldn't shine through as regular paint isn't transparent. You would want to use something like niteshades spray.

Just swap the harnesses for reverse and turn signal.
