Here is Another Time Attack Evo thread ;)
Well,
Here is our Another Time Attack Evo thread
This car was built for our friend Ryan Doi from forged performance in Georgia… we also built an evo ix MR for Ryan with a BBK a couple months back.
The car came to us after being put in a tire barrier at a Time Attack event last year at summit point (Ryan wasn’t driving)…. We started the process by removing the big laggy turbo and upgrading it to the CBRD TAK33R…. we also did custom intercooler piping and tanks (with our buddies at JMFab) and built a twin pass high fin per inch radiator …
From there the cage was built… painted… and the carbon doors were installed and we went to work installing all of the Voltex parts… as normal here, we riveted the body and bolted the fenders on so they could be removed… custom mounts were made for the sideskirts and some other bits to reinforce them.
(PS- the seibon stuff fits terrible… we will not use them again.. the glass doesn’t fit in the channels, there is no place for the molding… nothing… the hood didn’t fit at all, and had to be swapped for a fiber images hood later on….)
The car was painted the factory color and we were supplied two sets of wheels….. AME’s in 18x10.5 and CE28’s 10.5… both pretty badass!!!
The suspension that was on the car was a wreck (pun intended)… the camber bolts and mounting plates were ground out to make them fit, and the clamp flanges on the base of the strut were too tight for the upright and had to be shaved down to even allow them to be moved while we worked on the car…
The spring actually hit the body of the car because of the flange plates being too long, and the camber could not be adjusted properly, not to mention the cast/camber plates were cut to make them work with the kit..
All of this was taken off… we then spec’d a set of coilovers with JRZ and had some triple adjustables built…. They fit like a glove… and allowed us much more clearance in the fender and to the wheel itself…
Since we don’t tune the HKS ecu, the car was taken to Sean Ivey to perform his magic… and he made 540whp and 420wtq at 25 psi on his dynojet (I may be off by a few hp/tq)…
Here is a list of parts we added:
CBRD double pass rad
CBRD TAK 33R
CBRD/JMFAB custom ic setup and piping
Voltex widebody with CBRD rear mounting
Two sets of wheels with toyo R888’s
JRZ 3 ways to CBRD spec’s
Buschur rear diff mounts
AMS moustache bar elim.
Whiteline bushings and antiroll kit
6 point cage with Hans harnesses and Sparco seats and sparco wheel
CTG carbon driveshaft
Seibon rear doors
Fiber images hood, with flushmount hood latches
Voltex front splitter (cbrd mounts)
Voltex rear diffuser
Ganador mirrors
And lots of other bits ive probably forgotten…
Regardless here are some pics through the process and of the end result… we will be maintaining this car for ryan and doing testing with him along side of our own car, and the GG evo ix previously posted this morning…

Yes, The Cyber front end creates more downforce and is better suited for track use. The front underpanel is nice too
Haha, very funny. Hopefully there won't be any raccoons on the track, lol.
They are lighter than OEM. Their hoods are much heavier than OEM though, which is why we went with the Fiber Images hood.
I was surprised as well, especially considering how much that suspension cost me. You can imagine how much Triple Adjustable Coilovers cost, now imagine having to buy a 2nd set.

but it was a major hackjob!
i guess some people will do anything to make a product fit that isnt design to fit... lol

Things a beauty. Now that it’s been said publicly, I can say. I was there where the car went into the barricade. Hurt my Evo heart to see it. It’s great that Ryan got it in CBRD's VERY capable and meticulous hands. Big Up to Chad and crew.

just kidding bud, watch out for them raccoons...
