Nothing says headlights like Blacked Out Headlights. This is the 5th set that Ive done!

CT9A 6 specs:
- Satin black housing
- Low beam ring left chrome
- High beam ring left chrome
- Foglight ring left chrome
- Back of Parker housing left chrome
- GTA clear indicator pieces
- YELLOW and RED projector
* Projectors appear YELLOW from the LHS
* Projectors appear RED from the RHS
- Light output modded for more BLUE at the edge


JDM housings primed up





Fog light / High beam / Low beam rings masked to retain some chrome for contrast



The orange JDM indicator piece was ditch in favour for JDM VIIGTA clear pieces





Projector appears YELLOW from the left hand side





Projectors appears RED from the right hand side

I personnaly like the contrast of some amber on the headlights. But good job either way.

 

Fair call!
The last 4 sets that I blacked out ALL had the amber pieces. I wanted to try something different. Ive also tried leaving different bits chrome. The next set I do will be something different again. Car colour will also make a difference
Hoping to work out what works and what doesnt.

 

the red looks good. Once installed can you take a night pic with the HID's on?

 

Just so you know, the YELLOW / RED projector does not affect the light output at all.
Evodave can probably confirm this too..

As for installation pix. you will have to wait till someone buys these headlights before I can post pix.

Mods: Im not trying to sell these HLs here. Im aware of my post count. JDM projectors are not suitable for RHS conditions anyway.

What makes them appear yellow and red?

 

thank you, thats all I needed to know. I was iffy in installing them. so I tried them on my extra set of projectors and wasn't sure on the hid output

 

The same thing that makes:

- USDM IX
- JDM VIIIMR + IX
- ADM IX

projectors appear turquoise from factory...

PAINT!!!!

 

I know everone has there likes and dislikes and i get that,but why do people make such of a fuss about headlights.

 

The same reason ppl put:
- CF bits
- tail lights
- wheels etc

VISUAL ASTHETICS!!!!

 

CF bits=HOT!
Wheels=HOT!
Headlights-Tail lights=Boring.

 

nice blacked out headlights! i just put jdms heads and tails on my evo but prob could have saved alot of money doin this

 

ok question for the op you have a evo 7 which had the amber peace at the bottom but you took it out. Can i buy those amber peaces off of you. Im thinking about doing another set of painted headlights on my car to switch out at car show etc let me know something.

 

yea you could have saved alot seriously lol you cant tell the difference if its done correctly but there are alot of it has to be jdm people out there so i understand your logic.
