Bumper paint or whole car?
so i have got massive rock chips on my bumper and wondering what other people have payed to get it repainted. and did you do a single stage, 2 stage or what.
also if anyone has repainted there whole car what have you paid to get it done? and how many stage paint?
I know I could goto a body/paint shop but I want to know what a good price is before I go.
TIA.

my buddy got in a little collision few months ago, the shop that did the body work wanted $1500.00 to repaint his car.. AG IX . I dont know what stage or anything just the price...
But 2-stage urethanes are more user-friendly. Not to mention SS is basically reserved for solid colors. If you don't shoot a metallic SS perfect there's no cut and buff b/c it will disturb the metallic. (SS=single stage base+clear in one application)
If you get a front bumper respray it will be the cheapest option, but it may not match. The correct way would be to 'blend' the bumper into the hood/fenders. It's an autobody technique we use to mask the subtle differences in color that is ubiquitous when repainting cars. Even if you mix the factory color many, many factors can effect the final hue of it and it may not match.
If you decide to get anything done to the front of your vehicle be sure to ask if they can put catalyst in the basecoat. This will greatly reduce the propensity for chipping in the future. Epoxy primer will also help. I would check with the most technologically advanced body shop around your area. Also, any shop that does 'OEM warranty' work will add hardner to basecoat whereas most bodyshops generally do not do this.
I have a BASF Refinishing certification and paint in a bodyshop part time.

You will have to refinish your Evo 2 stage. As for bumpers, most of the time shops spend more time tinting the color to be very close. Very rarely will fenders or 1/4 panels be blended for a bumper job. Just isn't cost effective and if you did blend panels for bumper jobs, you will be scaring customers away. Who wants to pay more?
Ball park figure. Many $ hundreds. Depending on where you go.

Im debating wether to get my car painted completely or just the parts that are being replace in the rear end but i know it wont match that well . My advice is if you go the extra cash just paint the whole car

F' that. Find a good painter and they can blend anything to make what you need fixed to look nice with the rest of the car. I don't think you guys understand how much labor is involved in order to do a complete paint job. More labor means more cost to you. You will be spending thousands to do a nice complete.
Although I can't speak for the '03's I know for a fact my '06 is not SS.
A bumper respray depends on the area. I would think with you being in the Dallas Metroplex you should be able to get it done for around $300. I know here in Memphis I would expect to pay about that and the COL is about the same here and there. I almost moved to Garland and did extensive research on the area.
A complete (withOUT color change) could run you anywhere from 3-6K depending on the shop.
A complete with color change would add another 3K or so.
