but that would work as well i would think
its to releave pressure in the block. what oil gets blown up the dipstick will be drained back into the oil pan so you dont have to empty a can.
This is not for Ricer, but if you're interested, we just released this kit:

So the an fitting on the dipstick will have a line going straight to an fitting welded onto the oil pan or into the balance shaft hole?
i dont know how STM will set it up. but most of these designs go's from the dipstick to the catch can. have you ever heard of some guys blowing off dipsticks and oil everywhere? this will eliminate that issue as well. it lets that pressure go some where ''into a vented can'' and what oil follows will be drained back into the oil pan

The dipstick vent is better than any vent you could have on your valve (of equal size) cover for more than one reason.
1. Venting the block is better than the head as it will allow your oil to return to the pan faster. The air that vents out of the valve cover rushes up from the block through the oil return passages causing the returning oil to slow down and sometime push back up into the head leaving the pan dry.
2. If you have a catch can with a drain on the bottom and it sits higher than this fitting on the dip stick tube you can use the fitting to vent and drain oil back from the catch can.
Just a couple examples of what this can be used for.
