I would propbalby still be really pissed about having my evo rapped, but stand back and take a look of your evo wingless, not too shabby. Plus you might want to think about going this way to prevent this from happening again. I had my truck broke into 3 times in 2 months from theives stealing and re-stealing my stereo set up once, it wasnt fun. I had 6 windows replaced in that time too.
Just a thought. re-place your trunk and keep the insurance $$ for the wing.
Im sorry non the less Hornet.
With a couple of days I've calmed down some. It's kind of hard for me to look at it clearly though. I still have ragged pieces and bent edges on the trunk. However, a guy at the place I went to for my insurance estimate said he thought the car looks better without the wing (he was still admiring the car even with the damage). At first I was considering not getting the big wing back on the car but now I've decided to have it put back on. I am however going directly to a place to have one of those annoying alarms put on. I'm talking about the ones that start chirping when someone stands too close to the car. Of course I'll try and have them set it reasonably so that I'm not running out everytime it gets a little windy out.

Get one of them *****es that shoots flames out of the side of your car. If you were a canibal, you could feast on the bastids that try to rip your car off. If you are a vegetarian, you could just get grossed out at all that cooked meat. Either way, it would serve them right.

Did you see the link I posted for the trunk from the Evo 7 and the Evo 7 wing? If you got those, you could adjust your wing. Just a thought. Unfortunately, you can't adjust it so that this never happens again. Hopefully your insurance won't increase because of this. Jealous people **** me off.

EVO w/o wing?

Hey there. Newbie so don't bite...hard.

I may be selling my S4 and if I can convince the wife an EVO is for us...ahem, ME I'm considering one without the wing.

Has anyone done it? If so can I see a picture of an EVO wingless?

TIA!

omg, that is gross. The wing is the trademark of the evo (along with the hood grill). I think no wing or even the little wing look like poo. Well maybe I think this cuz I've been following this car for years and just see the wing as a part of the car. Only us americans would even think about tearing down that beauty . Do as you wish, its all a matter of opinion.

I personally think it looks like *** without the wing. I would prefer to keep the high wing on. Even with the OZ spoiler, I think it looks like ***.

i like it without the wing or even the OZ wing doesn't look bad IMO. the big wing is too expensive ($500+) and looks like something off a ricer, and i would never want to associate an evo with any kinda ricer.

What makes a ricer a ricer? an asian? or can other races be ricers too? In terms of the wing it looks weak without one. Besides that "Ricer"wing was developed for the WRC in europe.

i know the wing has a purpose in serious racing, but it has been duplicated and stuck on all kinds of cars that have no need for a wing. a ricer is a car that is "all show no go" gawdy ugly mods that no nothing for the car.

There are days when the wing looks good to me, and there are days when it looks like a riced out wing. I too think that the wing may be part of the car, so if a modded small wing Evo spanks your big winged Evo will you be more ashamed that you lost to an "untrue" Evo All jokes aside, get what YOU like. Who gives a **** what anyone else thinks about YOUR ride. I'm in my early 30's, work in a corporate environment, and sometimes take business associates out to lunch. I might want something a little less flashy. I am by no means conservative. I've got 6 piercings, 2 tats, shaved head....but there is a time and a place where I don't want to stand out too much and for that the small wing will do just fine for me. If I were in hs or college or was a huge rally fan, then the big wing would be a must have. I just want something thats decently quick, handles like its on rails, has 4 doors ( 2 fit the 2 kids), and won't require too much modding. The Evo is all of that for me.

When all is said and done though...When I get to the dealer if I fall in love with a big winged car.......i'll be a big winged, altezza sporting ricer

Something doesn't mesh up without the rear wing. It has such an aggressive front and muscular fender bulges. Then it just tapers off..

I'll still go for a Giant Honkin Carbon Fiber wing! Evos got the F40 wing and F40 Brakes, it's just got room for 4 and isn't as noisy, expensive, or uncomfortable.

I heard that the wing makes a big difference in high-speed handling...keeps the rear end from getting squirrelly...just what I heard...

Just wondering...

Wouldn't the Evo be faster in the 1/4 mile without the big wing?
