There ARE pics at the beginning of this thread, I have yet to take more of the intricate stuff. And i am still using it with the clear plexi plate. I find it interesting that you used your original plate...when i was meshing my touchscreen in i wanted to cut the closest to the screen size, which cut through some of that plate. bummer...

As for the radio relocation kit, I got mine at my Mitsubishi dealership for 18$ CDN (roughly 15$ USD right now..). I got the part number in another thread here (a sticky thread that says "important part numbers" I believe..). I own an OZ and the part I got is black like the rest of the dash.

I also took the plate that usually goes around the radio+hvac and cut the part that covers the hvac. I installed that plate on the hvac to keep the "original" look.

good luck!

Its interesting this thread came back from the dead.. I was planning on doing this on my next "Vacation" in february..

I was planning on getting a spare radio panel, I already have the relocation kit.. But I want to run gauges and a radio, or my touch screen.. I wanted to do 4 gauges across..

Oh.. There's also a product out there called "Secret audio" its basically a nice quality radio setup designed to be hidden.. Originally designed for muscle cars to keep the OE looking parts in the dash. Another nice option to free up space.

Hey, found a solution for your dilemma of what to use for the cover of the dials..

Picked this up today.. (Should have it in a few days) But its from a 2004 Evo RS.. its covered with the same material as the majority of the dashboard, and therefore you can cut the bottom section off, trim it and fit it in the opening of the dials in the lower DIN panel.. Essentially making it look OEM.. this was the last part I was looking form.

Here's a quick photochop of what this part might look like trimmed to fit in the Din opening..

Ok.. I've done better chops in the past.. But this is to show what it should look like..

I found the same thing that sky did a while back...i want one piece tho, which is why i turned those down. The place denied the ability to make them into one piece rather than 3 sep. circles.

it would certainly be nice if it was a one piece cover, but putting those circle ring trims over the dials and putting a custom cutted carbon fiber plate with the 3 circle openings and a trapezoid shape for the 3 buttons wont look too bad I suppose

I cant imagine how much that place would charge if you ask them to build one custom one piece cover
