My GG Evo 9 MR (Intro-Build Thread)
My GG Evo 9 MR (Intro-Build Thread)
A little over 2 years ago I was able to pick up my "realistic" dream car! Like many other on here, I started with a Honda Civic and had always wanted a true tuner car.
06 Evo IX MR

I did a decent amount of research on evo's and sti's before my purchase and this car presented itself at the right time in my life for the right price. It was hands down my favorite evo color besides wicked white, and I didn't mind the MR tranny since it would be my daily driver.
The car was essentially bone stock when I picked it up with 50k miles. The previous owner had put a ETS catback exhaust on it a couple months before he sold it to me as well as an in-dash navigation system with the nice bezel, but other than that it had never been touched. In all honestly the car looked like it had just left the showroom. Exterior was about a 9.5/10 and interior a 9/10.
Since my ownership I have...
Refinished the brembos

Picked up an extra set of snow shoes and tires

SE Lip!

New Tires!

OEM window visors and a JDM Booty

I also picked up some Ferodo DS2500 pads as well as a WORKS drop in filter that I do not have pics of. Filter was a nice little touch, but I am unsure about the DS2500's...I just bought them and I can't stand brake squeal
And As of literally 3 days ago, I finally decided to do some engine mods. I loved the idea of having a stock evo that remained clean, but I feel like I would regret never taking advantage of an awesome platform.
So I scored a deal on Some ETS Titanium intercooler piping (short route complete kit) as well as an ETS intake. Oh, and I had to buy a mini battery to make it fit!

I am still on the stock tune and I did't want to push the limits with the intake (since I heard the metal pipe may or may not cause issues) So I decided to play it safe and only do the piping and attach the Maf adapter to the K&N filter withe the stock corrugated pipe.
Been driving it for a couple days now and it feels great. Spool is insanely loud and peak boost is still at 18-19 pounds with no idle issues.

I figured this combination will be safe for now until I do some more mods and plan on road tripping to english racing for a tune.
Future Mods
Swift Spec R's
Wideband
Downpipe
Bigger Fuel Pump
Tune
Thanks for looking, any advice is welcome!

Thank you!! To be honest, I am a simple guy and don't need anything crazy to be happy. It's my only mode of transportation so reliability is #1 for me. Realistically if I could be sitting at a solid 350whp, I would love that

Thanks everyone!!
The pictures don't do the titanium justice. It looks amazing in person. Eventually, I will need to tuck the battery harness so you can see the upper piping a bit better!
I am also in the market for a new mani cover if anyone has a clean one
Looking for a MAP cover or an ARC (Yeah right, i know) but I think it would help clean it up a bit more!

It's an ETS catback and yes I did have to modify it. Fits perfect now and looks mean as hell from the back.
