Received a reply from a local guy running XD9 on his VIII. He is running 18x9 +30 front and rear which he said clear the brembos. Apologies I thought he was running 18x9.5, so I am still not 100% sure what offset will be needed on a 9.5 width...

If I see anyone who is running 9.5 I will make sure to ask them for their setup and send you a pm mate.

Took a picture of Evolyn and my wife the other week when we were out getting a coffee. A good friend of mine has a silver VII and painted his X GSR Rims black. We swapped for a bit as he needed to get off defect and was running 255 semis. The black has grown on me to be honest, and I am thinking of painting mine black too.

The black does look good. Looks a bit tougher but the silver does look clean OEM. Hard choice

So, probably one of the best accessories I have bought for the evo was a gerni and snow foam lance. Absolutely love it, and it has been a fortnightly ritual since I bought it:

And then some help from my little man:

Excellent thread! Keep up with the pictures. Boost leak tests should be treated like routine maintenance. I always check every couple of months.

Thanks man! My local shop charges $80 for a boost leak test, so if a new IACV does not help my idle issues which I am confident it will, next step will be to take evolyn in for a boost leak test and go from there...

Took a quick cheeky snap after her wash a few weeks ago, evolyn gets a wash every 2 weeks, the daily liberty gets one every 2 months if she is lucky haha:

Doing what I love most, coffee & brunch with the family, and evolyn parked within site haha:

Spent some time last weekend giving the XD9's some love. They were a bit grubby:

All small steps, but still steps in the right direction...

Gave my radiator and manifold cover a bit of a polish too, they were a bit grubby:

So there has been a project I have been working on for several months. It has been a bit of a journey but I am glad to say I am nearly towards the end. Before I owned evolyn my last car was a black 2003 VIII. There was a time back in 2013 when the aussie dollar was unexpectedly strong against the USD. So normally when our dollar is worth about 75c, for a bit in 2013 it was worth $1.10 or above. So... haha my wife had a weak moment and gave me the go ahead on a set of CCW LM20 3 Piece.

Here they are on my old VIII:

Buying these rims was an absolute blast, back then CCW was its own company (it has since been purchased by WELD) and every detail was designed specifically for the CT9A. 18x10 with 3" lips all round, +32 front & +19 rears & the centres milled from 7075 billet.

I was a bit naive back then though and really let the rims go...

We're talking rash on two of the barrels:

As well as 2 nicks on another:

SO...

There was a lot of work that needed to be done. I knew I wouldn't be able to do it all by myself, but as with everything else on this car my aim is to do as much as possible. So after discussing my options with a few people I contacted a local business called fitment factory and ran thru what could be done. 1st thing on the list was clean them as well as I could:

Till I got them looking much better, but still with a long long way to go:

Then it was time to remove the rubber and get some expert help to get the rims back to their former glory.

In total the outer barrels with rash were sanded and polished like new. The barrel with the two nicks were filled and then polished like new. All centre pieces were polished, as well as the inner barrels too:

So finally after a lot of work they were coming back to their former glory...

This left me with one major task. To save money I cleaned, restored and polished the 120 ARP Bolts & Nuts that make up the set of rims. Let's say I never want to see another ARP Bolt again haha...

So after a lot more work than I originally thought there would be, I was finally happy and I think the end result speaks for itself:

So all in all I am very happy with the result. Here is a quick pic I snapped the night I picked them up:

Inner barrels are looking MUCH better than they were:

Definitely looking like a set of rims of this quality should:

Next step is to get them coated so as to maintain them easier, and then fit rubber and put them back on the car! Slowly getting closer!

Took the old girl to a car meet last weekend. It is Winter here so the Evo does not get driven much at the moment. Was good to get her out for the morning tho...

Also spent some time refurbishing the BC Suspension while it is off the car. They are next to new, but a quick clean up, especially around the thread area made a difference:
