Gram light + Falken RT615

Alright guys, I'm in the market for 17 x 8.5 gram light 57s, and l'm leaning towards the falken rt615's 255/40/17, my only problem is I read all types of stories, some say DO IT, others say DON'T DO IT, so I'm confused on which road to take, please help.

I will also be ordering Tein Flex Coilovers.

Im running them( Gram light 57s) with TOYO RA-1s ...I would say they are both a good combination...but Im not sure if you really want to use that combo on a daily driver...some people do...I barely drive my evo...so no real wear on the R-A1s as of yet. I THINK the TOYOS r-a1s and the FALKENS rt615 have a low tread rating...both sticky tires...my RA1s picks up everything, and you can hear it (kinda scary)

Im not a tire expert or rim expert...this is just my 2 cents

I guess I will go with the size Falken recommends, which is 245/45/17, thanks for your help.

Wicked Evo...scour the posts...255/40/17 is the only way to go...unless you like the look of the smaller tire. I've run both sizes...and will never run 245/45/17 again. Bigger is better...and better performing in this case. My sig says newbie...50,000 miles in the driver's seat of two Evos says experienced.

255/40s on a 17X8.5 rim with at +30 offset with rub in the rear.

With slight rub also on front, with hard turns (depending on your drop)
