An alternative tire to the oem Yoko....

Any tire preference other than the expensive oem yokos? Just wondering what tires you guys would choose when your yokos become low on thread. Anyone used a certain type that they had good experience with? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks guys.

My second set of tires were Falkens. I did notice a difference in the handling (not too bad, though). I was pretty happy with them. I got 31,000 miles out of the set, and could have gone another 5-6K. I just put on some Khumos and I like them a lot. There isn't much out there to touch the OEM Advans. They're outstanding. In my case, though, I'd rather pay $500-$600 for a set that will last me 36,000 miles than $1000 + for a set that will last at most 15,000 miles. Of course, I don't track my car so the loss of performance is not a big deal to me. If you want superior performance you're going to have to step up to the plate. But check around on this forum. There are a lot of tires that people are happy with.

I've seen people go with Falken Azenis RT-615s and Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212s. Both were satisfying but still not as great as the factory Yokos in their opinions.

I have 225/45R17 RT-615s on my car and I think they're awesome.

Falken Azenis, also check the for sale threads alot of people let the OEM tires go for dirt cheap with 80-90 percent tread left. Iv seen a few threads with advans with 90% tread go for 400 bucks.

We have a whole forum dedicated to tires, and there are countless threads that have discussed this ad nauseam. Please make use of what this forum has to offer in terms of its wealth of knowledge instead of making a new thread against the rules as a newbie who didn't search...

PS. What is a Prulude?

A good website to go to is tirerack.com. They have a plethora of different types of tires and also have user reviews to help you dwindle down your choice. It is a smart choice to use the search button, but I'm not unwilling to help you out unlike some people.
