Exclamation Staggered set up on an evo?

Just a quick question.. I could have a set of motegi 18x9 +18 (front) and 18x10 +30 (rear) Brand new for around $400.. Local shop closed and has a set left over.. I know all about pulling fenders and rolling the lips to fit.. My question isnt about fitment.. My question: Is it bad to run diff size tires on an AWD drivetrain 245/45/18(F) 255/35/18(R) Yes they will have a "drift" look to them.. less fender pulling required.. The reason for diff tire sizes is cuz i dont want the stretched look in the rear and normal sidewalls in the front.. Is this going to pay havoc on my drivetrain or are they close enough that its no big deal?

*** Dont answer if your guessing ***

This has already been discussed numerous times here on the forums. Running wider tires in the back is not recommended, pointless and quites possibly damage your drive train. You'll get a better turn in and handling if you run the wider tires/wheels in the front.

It's still a bad idea. It is the difference in diameter that will cause your differential to work overtime, ALL THE TIME.

You can run those wheels, you just need the same tire size on both to keep your drivetrain parts happy and working.

Staggered doesnt really look that good on the evo anyway. But if you want to do that type of setup or at least want that type of look, maybe look at some wheels my axis a/ whte Maxis lip. They wheels themselves are the same size, but the lip is wider in the rear.

Ya I was only looking at that route cuz of the deal I was getting..

But I had in my head that a 18x9 and an 18x10 with the same tire size.. wouldnt be the same at all.. Once you stretch that tire on the 18x10 wouldnt the overall size would be totally diiferent than what you started with?

This is why I went smaller in the front to try to achieve the stretched look all around and hope for overall diameter would be similiar.

go for it and do it i have a set of TE 37's stagered 17 by 8.5 and 17 by 9.5 in da rear as long as your tire sizes are all the same but you will need to roll your fenders.

u can get the staggered look by getting the same size wheels for the front and rear with the same size tires, but you need to get a different offset so u can have the bigger lip in the rear

Is Staggered even practical on a AWD car?
