Swift spring problem???

I just installed all four Swift springs on a new oem set of shocks and struts (off the car) and I noticed that the rear Swift springs dont sit on the bottom perch. This is on a 03 NOT an MR oem suspension. Anyone else have this problem? They are not installed on the car yet, does that mean that once the weight of the car is loaded it will push it into the groove of the lower shock perch? I searched every where with no luck. (I verified on the box that they are for the 2003 Evo.) Please help!! Thanks

Well to answer my own question: the dumba**** at Swift sent the wrong springs. I called them directly and read off the number on the spring and he said it was a coilover spring and that they had mispackaged it. So I demanded they overnight the replacments as my car is completely dismantled and have to borrow a car now This product better be worth it. And I guess we shall see how their customer service is.

I installed Swift springs last weekend and I am very happy with them... I'm sure you will be happy once you get the right springs.

After speaking with the person at Swift Springs, He had to speak with his manager so he called me back saying that they were on their way to Fedex as they were speaking with me so they could get there before close. They really felt bad and seemed to have genuine concern. If the product is as good as all the threads I've read on top of their great customer service, I would highly recommend Swift products.

BTW this is my first spring install that I am doing myself. I was able to get one side front off but I had to use lots of PB blaster and a breaker bar (PIPE) to remove two lower bolts. Now I tried the other side and was able to get one off, but after several painful attempts I simply cannot remove this bolt. I already broke two craftsman ratchets!!! Any Ideas?? Even my impact wrench cannot remove it!! Please help!!! Thanks.

Not sure what the problem is. I installed my springs and have done several others. Clean off all excess dirt and use WD-40 or break free oil and let it sit for a coupe hours. You need to get a stronger impact or buy a breaker bar. A ratchet will not break the nuts loose. Plus make sure your turning the proper side of the bolt. your top knuckle bolt, you have to trun the nut side. Finda how to if you haven't done this before. I don't know your mechanical expertise but there are certain things and alignments you have to do to ensure a proper install or the springs will suck. With a proper install, Swift is awsome. I love mine. Go to Evomotorsports.com (????something like that)

Thanks for your advise. Everything with the install has gone smooth esp. with Evomoto's instructions, except wrong springs but that is being taken care of, its just one last bolt on the lower front strut (drivers side). I have been taking off the nut on all three so far. Are you saying you usually unscrew the bolt head except the top knuckle bolt? What's the difference? Btw I have used: breaker bar, ratcheting combo wrench, standart combo wrench, ratchet, and my impact wrench and tons of PB blaster! I let it sit over night, so I'll try again tom. Maybe this is because my car is an 03 winter driven, but had springs for 1.5 years though.

The top bolt is slotted, you can see an arrow on it pointing towards the middle of the car. There is two settings, either pointing to the car or away from the car to adjust camber I believe. You should be trying to loosen the nut on these bolts and holding the bolt with a wrench. I have around 5K miles on mine and still had trouble with these bolts, I used a breaker bar (pipe) and a rachet and it came off. When you put these bolts back in with the new springs you should have the arrow pointing towards the car.

The first time I had Hotchkis Springs installed by a shop, But when I went to remove the drivers side the arrow was pointing outwords???!! The passenger side was pointing inwords. I got an alignment at that time. Does that mean they screwed up my alignment? It never pulled or had unusual tire ware or anything. This last bolt is the biggest pain in the neck. I broke two ratches already. Its still soaking in PB blaster and Ill try again tommrow. Thanks again to all who posted suggestions. With so much bashing on these forms its nice to see other Evo owners still contribute to their fellow Evo "family" members
