E-Brake down, Brake light on???

As the title says, my e-brake is down and my brake light is on... i turned the car off then back on, so on so forth, tried pulling it up and down but as i was driving the brake light stayed on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -Matt

Check your brake fluid level as a first step.

Yeah, most likely your low on fluid causing the light to say on. Also, if you are low on fluid you may need pads soon.

if thats not it, you might be receiving a signal from the e-brake sensor under your center console just in front of the brake assembly.

probably low fluid. Brakes will probably need to be replaced soon. As they wear, the pistons move further out which takes more fluid. Just happened to me.

the light is in relations with the sensor under the center console..i dont think i thas anything to do with break fluid.

unscrew the screws in the center console and take itout, physically inspect the sensor by engaging and disengating the brake lever to see if the little metal peice is connecting as it is suppose to....i'm sure with a visual inspection you can figure out whats wrong, or maybe the wire attached to the sensor has disc. itself.
