Tire Mounting
Tire Mounting
I will be getting my tires mounted this wednesday. Wheels are flat black. I was wondering the best way to not get the lip scratched when mounting the tires.. Any advice? Thanks in advance..

Just make sure you take it to a reputable shop. Also, request that the wheels be "static balanced" rather than "dynamic balanced." Static isn't as good, but they don't have to use the clip-on metal wheel weights on the lip of your rim. Instead they use adhesive weights on the barrel. If you take it to a place that knows what it's doing, request to have it done this way. Mine turned out okay. That's really the only way around ruining wheels. Those metal clip weights will destroy your rim. There's no way around that unless the wheel is perfect from the factory and doesn't require any balance. (Which is about 0.1% of all wheels.)
Not sure if the stock rims have to be reverse mounted but my volks were. basically the wheel is turned "upside down" (spokes facing down) and the tire is mounted onto the rim from the top. IF there's damage, no one will see the inside of your rims anyway
Just like everyone else said try to have them reverse mounted. Also I know that some machines use a metal piece to mount the tires and other are plastic. The plastic will obviously be a lot less harsh on the wheels.
Try to find a reputable place, preferably one that specializes in performance wheels/tires. I actually had the exact same wheels as you mounted with some tires today and they came out fine without being reverse mounted, and I had them put the balancing weight on the inside.
