OEM Brembo Makeover
My Evo8 suffered the classic Brembo clearcoat issue and the calipers looked like crap. All of the clear was cracking off and the calipers were turning white. Well I needed to do Rotors and pads, and had a set of SS lines I was meaning to install, so I decided to repaint my rotors while they were off the car.
I did this entirely myself and the total cost was about $100 in materials tops
Material list:
2 cans of brake caliper paint
1 can of paint stripper
masking tape
scarper
wet sandpaper 320-600 grit
Some newspapers
a few brushes for the stripper
a container for the stripper
Gloves
Wire brush
Steel wool
Brembo stickers-set of 4 on ebay, $9.99
I made sure I completely stripped all of the old paint off down to the metal on all 4 calipers. This was time consuming and tedious, but the preperation is VERY iportant. Once the paint was off, I washed them in dish detergent to get all the grease or residue off. Once the surface is completely clean and dry. Then I applied a few light coats of caliper paint and let dry overnight. The next day i gave the caliper a mild wetsand with 600 grit, washed and dryed and resprayed 2 more coats..
once dry I applied the stickers..
Looks like brand new!!!

if you have an Oreilly's get you a can of VHT high temp clear it is the best clear to put on the calipers. if you want a lifetime covering put them in the oven for a few minutes to bake the clear and it will last forever
