removing front fender liners

didnt see a thread like this. i'll chalk this up as one of the worst questions i have ever asked so save me the embarrassment haha

my fender liners up front are chewed to pieces. its to the point where mounting screw are missing, and they are being held from hitting the tires by zipties

i have seen guys with aggressive fitments running without them. my question is what do i risk by doing so? especially with a boston winter coming up. anyone have experience with this. i might just have to go buy a new set, but if i can just take them out without causing an issues, i will.

for newengland winters, you'll want them on, definitely. Dirt and sand gets shot down into your door jambs, your serpentine belt/pulley can get full of salt/grime, and the metal down there will start to look beat.

New England makes our Evos look like poop sausage.

thanks for the tip. might as well replace them now anyway as someone hit my car last night. the bumper is hanging off under the pass. side headlight and it tore up the mounting tab in the fender.

i really hate this car sometimes

They should not be too much from mitsuparts.net. There are also wires in the upper part of the fenders. Having those exposed is a bad idea.

Yea, mine are pretty chewed up as well. I have 255/35 18's...so they see some liner contact on full tilt.

Replacement shouldnt be that bad though. Just pull the wheel off, and it will make the remplacement so much easier. I plan on doing this before winter gets here. Last time I looked, I think you can get both sides for under 150.00 shipped.
