Call John @ RRE, he's the man. More importantly, he can setup your suspension for your use and your ability level. He's got a lot of know-how, and they come corner weighted out of the box (very close).

wow, thanks for the quick responses on that.

Now, I have a question. Why JIC?? have you tried to replicate your setups with different manufacturers products? Not that i am a label *****, but i would think that if a 'serious' suspension setup is so good, it would cost more (dont hurt me). I was and still am ready to shell out the money for a set of Ohlins coils, but this is making me think about choosing RRE since everyone is raving about their setups.

I guess another thing for me is exposure. I did like what SCChad to say about your suspension setup, and that it had the best lateral grip out of the'Evo Orgy' testings. The 3rd/4th also running JIC setup, whilst RBMotoring had a slightly better than stock with the Ohlins PCV coils.

wow, i guess the more i read, the more obvious the decision becomes. um, thanks you will hear from me after the summer then.

The RRE JICs are less and come complete top to bottom, no need to buy camber plates. I asked a lot of people, and I even said, "Look I will spend 500 dollars more now, if it's going to benefit me over the long run." Then, someone who has a really fast car, said that his car was faster than every Ohlins setup he's went against, and the Ohlins setups all had 3K dollars worth of suspension tuning. So, I gave in and called John. John is a awesome guy, I even managed to mess up his settings (they come preset, duh!), so he gave me 20 minutes of instructions over the phone (while I was driving to the track). The most important thing is that you get the right settings for your application. I had no idea there was such a huge difference in the setup, but as John explained that if you want to hit the banking at California speedway at 150 you don't want a daily driver/autocross setup.

RRE and John has and will continue to work/consult with many Suspension companies. Look at the Sig...think I like the JIC and then Buddy Club setups we ran under my car? The JIC's are the setup with the most amount of tuning testing to date....We are getting closer with the Buddy Club Setup every track day...(I think within a half second a lap now...).

How's the build quality of the Buddy Club coilovers compared to the JICs? We're talking their Racing Spec setup and not their full-on P1 Racing setup, right? If RRE puts together a Buddy Club suspension package with coilovers and forged P1 Racing II rims, I'll more than reconsider going the Ohlins route.

The welds are cleaner and they hard anodize everything Red and Black. They are the "racing spec" and after using bothe setups for quite some time (36K on my EVO to date) if you want a FULL racing suspension RIGHT NOW(to hell with the street ride) the JIC's are still a "tick" quicker...But if you want the best ride/track time combo my vote is with the Buddyclubs. Call John@RRE! I heard he has 3 sets coming in any day (and they go fast!)

Of course we vote for the WORKS/ZEAL Function-V6s (stage I) and Function-Xs (stage II).
We are also developing a WORKS/Ohlins Stage I package with proprietary rates and camber plates which should be completed by the end of August.
These packages are well suited for the Street/Track EVOs.

ZEAL Super Function-Rs and Ohlins Group-N are recommended for the Track Junkies!

Fast time of the Day @ Speed Ventures track day Willow Springs Big track (1:33.509) My PF 97 shod Buschur stage V sure suprized alot of Vettes, Vipers and supras today (BTW this is a HP track known as the "fastest road in the west" with over 1/2 of the lap spent in 4th& 5th and also well over 100MPH) Damn the Buddy Club Coilover Setup by John @RRE is starting to come together and produce results equal (or at least VERY close) to the JIC's I used to run

I'm pretty sure the same or at least within $100.00 of the JIC's that John is currently doing E-mail him john@roadraceengineering.com for the current setup we are still testing these but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

so strictly for performance, what setup is best, I daily drive my car and I think its pretty rough now, so being "bumpy" is a concern, but not a large factor in my decision. I have seen what the Hipermax II setup can do, and people rave about the JIC RRE setup, OHLIN setup seems to be nice - but pricey, any other suggestions for someone looking for a high quality setup for the track and race applications?

I remember reading somewhere about the JIC's having to be rebuilt, or something like that, every 15 - 20k miles ? Any truth to this ? I'm leaning towards the RRE JIC's but just curious about the reliability, longevity and durability.
