The dealer said it looked like the bracket had never been on the car as there were no witness marks on the bar.
what does this peice look like??

I just got my car back from the dealer. NO MORE NOISE! They took the advice of an earlier post and insulated the top of the springs. Free of charge as they did this under warranty.

Did you ask them what did they use to insulate the noise??
Was it a oem part that was missing from the top of your struts?

Thanks,

They inserted some 3/8th inch high pressure hose to the top of the springs. Also there was nothing missing from the factory like some of you asked.

Yup, I believe that is basically all that was done to fix the noise issue.

and ask your mechanic which part he changed/replaced to get
rid of the noise?

Thanks,
He showed me the parts. The swaybar end links aren't in your drawing, but he replaced #4 in the drawing on the driver's side. He emphasized, though, that this was only due to it having moved, and the root cause of the noise is the springs. The ends of the springs where they coil over on themselves need to be isolated so they don't bang and rub metal-to-metal.

Looking at your pictures I am unable to see where any noise would be coming from.

there is no physical evidence from my struts either, after the 3rd dealership refused to fix anything, even research whats causing the noise, even after calling the 800 number... i dont get these people...

I'm just going to fix the god damn problem myself, i will post some pictures of exactly what I did to resolve the problem, it will be early next week... thats when i can get some time on a car lift. It only take 10 mins to take the struts off and maybe 30 mins to do the fix, I don't get why always tells me theres nothing wrong, when the damn SERVICE REP hears the noise?!?

So we still don't have a solid fix... is it the missing bracket? Is it the replacement of part #4 in the drawing? Is it putting hose on the spring (sounds kinda ghetto to me)? Sounds like we're getting close but damn this is annoying. I personally took my car in and they couldn't reproduce it, so I drove it w/the tech riding for like 20 min and it wouldn't clunk for me.

I would try to find a parking lot with speedbumps near the
dealership... make sure you know how to reproduce the noise
before heading down.... roll up your windows and turn off the
radios..

I'm all prepared..but just very reluctant of bringing the car to
the dealer.
