From a former user of those springs, I highly recommend getting something along the lines of Swift or Gtworx. The front is far to soft and low and you ARE riding the bump stops. Can tell you how much more front grip came from the GTworx set up with nothing else changed.

As far as your ABS is concerned. I had similar problems on my DSM. I found that the front was locking up and rear was doing nearly nothing. You can see which end has too much brake force by disabling the ABS and having someone watch while you recreate the symptoms. Just look if its one end, one tire, or what ever combination that smokes. That will tell you so much more about what might be wrong than we can by guessing.

From my understanding if I had a malfunctioning speed sensor it would trip the system into shutting off abs completely? This is a safety precaution that occurs on most modern cars.

03whitegsr - yes the alignment was correct for this height for that vehicle. I will be doing an entire realignment so I will update you it's effectiveness curing this. Remembering back from the autocross the abs wasn't one of my worries the cars massive understeer kept me busy. Probably due to the drop combined with alignment. I will comment on this too after I install the new parts this week.

Dallas J - first thing I opted for after finishing up the season was to redo the evo dd completely. The GTworx are already ordered with HD bilsteins. Regarding your dsm what was your remedy in that case.

Youre right on the speed sensor. If that goes out it fails the test at startup and youll just get the ABS light.

I fixed the talon by opening the bleeder and compressing the caliper pistons, I think their was air trapped after the bleeder in the cylinder. At the same time I replaced the proportioning valve but I dont think the other one was the issue.

Verify the ABS wires aren't compromised in the wheel wells. If ABS presents then cuts out after a couple seconds consistently, that's where I'd look first. It's not your pads or your hydraulic lines.

I will give them a complete look through, however like I said earlier a damaged or disconnected wire would send the system offline.

Update: checked all wheels bearings today each one ps perfectly good. Thats one off the list.

When it comes to CELs, consider the saying "Trust, but verify". There are instances where the CEL will not activate.

I have the same problems with my VII. Those who rode with me were impressed by the braking, but I always felt the front right wheel was too sensitive, engaging ABS too soon and staying on until I let the pedal go. That was ODD!

Right now the car is on stands, waiting for a rebuilt engine. When It´s back to road, I´ll do a full brake bleed and check the MUT codes. There should be some air anywhere.

I had the car on the lift yesterday. Traced all the Speed sensor wiring to double check. It all looks good. The sensors themselves look to be in good shape a aswell. I doubt anything could have been damage on the inside of the car.

^^Time to go with the MUT test tests aas based on your description, I thought you would be physical evidence of the issue. Try to explain the issue one more time and maybe something will resonate.

seen these symptoms before....

one time it was due to what i believe was a bubble trapped in the ABS distribution block. i was able to get it fixed by doing multiple bleeds with a few good full ABS stops in between.

another time the ABS sensor on the wheel hub had become contaminated with what looked like iron particles (its a magnetic sensor) probably from going off road, or driving on rough roads & getting dust kicked up. this time i fixed it by removing the wheel, unbolting/removing the speed sensor from the hub, wiping it off & blowing the sensor ring on the CV off with compressed air

neither time did the abs light illuminate or throw any codes

Alright i will bleed the brakes this week ill use the power bleeder and give it a few runs. I will also remove the abs sensors one of them seemed a bit dirty but nothing significant. Its worth a shot.
